Friday Night Lights at tOSU - July 26th, 2013

It costs 40$. Kids thought they'd have a ride, but parents had to pick up a shift or their sibling got sick. Found out a girl they like wanted to hang out on her one night off work. More tired from working out all week than they thought they'd be.

Just seems like there are literally a hundred different reasons why they realized at the last minute they couldn't attend. No biggie.

Was sitting at the middle of A Deck (during FNL).

If any photos or anyone else in attendance, who was:

1) Kid in white knee socks with red shorts and scarlet top playing DB (I think it was Webb).
2) Kid with the white towel hanging from behind playing WR and I think he had a hat or bandana on. He had black or blue shorts and a scarlet top.

Those two stood out to me. Both Urban and Kerry Coombs (along with Zach Smith) kept talking to those two.

Didn't have binoculars and couldn't tell. They went one-on-one multiple times.

After staring at the video board for maybe 5-7 minutes, I seriously did not see one Carlos Hyde highlight.

Scout $ - Ohio State FNL: Notebook

7/27

By The Bank....Top Performer: Damon Webb, Most Exciting: Eric Glover-Williams, Top Lineman: Kyle Trout & Marcelys Jones, Top LB: Jerome Baker, Top DB: Damon Webb, Top QB: Kelly Bryant.

Webb is going to be special. I know that isn't a major revelation but seriously, he always takes the top spot and locks it down at every competition he goes to no matter the level of competition. I also love how he competes every opportunity he gets, you gotta love that drive.

Looking at the list one thing jumps out at me, the lack of names from SW Ohio. Maybe it's just where the talent is this year, but the Cincinnati - Dayton corridor has too much talent to ignore. Notre Dame is back in town, Kentucky's new coach trying to make inroads, Michigan sniffing around and the Bearcats preaching "stay home." Can't afford to let this part of the state go.

I do not know who you would want from Southwest Ohio that Ohio State is not recruiting over the players that they are recruiting. Just because those other four schools are recruiting Southwest Ohio this year does not mean that the players from that area are better than the ones that we are recruiting. Also, we did have our spring game down in Cincinnati this year in order to get noticed a little bit by the high school coaches and players.

Seemed to manage just fine for the last fifteen years without offering half of Cincy. Urban has made it clear he's trying to involve SW Ohio in his plans, but if they aren't being offered or showing up to earn one, it's on them. Either way, tOSU will be just fine either way. Either way, either way.
