someone tell me why this is a huge get. I'm not being a jerk, just not sure I understand the roll of the "director of football operations" or "recruiting coordinator"

Mark Pantoni is the day-to-day ops guy for recruiting. He is the brains behind Friday Night Lights. He is also the man most HS coaches will deal with and also the guy who will 'load the board' with prospects. Mark will be the guy who knows about the 14-year old kid in BFE who is running a 4.4...

He is as intense about recruiting as Coach Meyer.

If we could get this at osu, it could be a game changer as far getting recruits. Uf was able to make this one of the premier events and lured a number of recruits from around the country because of it. I can only imagine how positive this would be for our recruiting and put us a few steps ahead from our big 10 competition

Wait, the Shoe doesn't have lights...

I'm begging you urban, please bring the Shoe into the 20th century of high school caliber lighting. OSU upgrades everything imaginable and runs much more expensive lights in the track and stickball stadiums, during and after the fb games, but they won't shell out for non parking lot lighting

Are you sure? We have night games, I'm pretty sure they're on the bottom of the 2nd deck.
Which they rarely turn on, and aren't enough even if they did.

They bring in four small squares of lights, paid for by the broadcasting company, hoisted up on telescoping poles.

Let me set the table first. The camp was overbooked this year and that meant more kids spread out over the field and parents/coaches in the stands. Without a roster for numbers and a distant vantage point, it was easy for some prospects to simply blend into the herd and go unnoticed...however, the ones who deserved to be noticed had no problem doing so. It was an amazing collection of talent.

We entered the Gator Room for registration, weigh-ins and measuring...had to pass right by the Heismans and the two crystals. I expected a dull pain in my gut at that moment, but surprisingly...nada. I'm over it...finally. Anyway, nice area but I suspect there will some upgrades sooner than later as UF continues success and keeps up with the usual facilities game.

We were 30 minutes early for registration and the place was already packed. They ended up with twice as many kids as they expected...and hoped to have.

The kids were sent to the field for 40s, then the defense went inside for a weight room tour and mini workout while the offense did a dynamic warmup. Then the groups switched...

There was an hour of individual drill work and then an hour of 1on1s.

Urban Meyer-- Thoroughly impressed. He was great with the kids and was working the recruiting trail from the first second and still going when we left. Great guy...but there is an obvious edge to him. It wasn't difficult to understand their success after meeting him.

Anything you want to know...ask.

If anyone missed it, Capo gave us a good report about one of his visits to FNL a few years back.

Which is why Ohio State opted to not get the lights perminately installed during the last stadium renovation/expansion project.
