Anyone watch it? I started, when it first began, just because of the football theme. In the beginning it was a bit slow, but things have become fairly intense over the past season and a half and it's become a very interesting show with a good bit of underlying themes and tones. Anyone else?

I've been Tivoing it since it moved to Fridays. I just caught up this weekend and the last two episodes have been great. Except for the part where the paralyzed guy throws himself into the ocean and somehow swims back to land.

Did it become more football based after that first half of the series? I tried it out the first few weeks (since I loved the movie), and thought the side stories were lame (partially due to acting), and there wasn't much football.

My wife likes the show so I watch it with her. It is better than watching all the design shows on TLC tha she likes.

I actually find myself somewhat addicted to the show. If I miss an episode, I have to find out what happened.

Agreed on most of the comments. It has improved over this season. I didn't appreciate it much in the beginning (as outlined by the reasons given by OCBucksFan), but they've started to deal with the issues of accidental paralysis trauma, Christianity, alcoholism, etc. It's not perfect by any stretch, but it has improved quite a bit.
