Further proof that America is done......

Soldier... I'm not sure I get the point of your post about the 1918 Spanish Flu. The flu shot has no bearing on our ability to defend ourselves from some "new" strain of the flu, only from those we predict will be an issue in any given season. Maybe that was your point, agreeing with DiHard that people get all worked up over nothing and if we were going to all get wiped out the flu shot ain't stopin' it?

I don't think the average American even knows when they have the flu. Any cold, any virus... the flu. All my kids were sick last week and so (of course) I got it too... 103 degrees with the meds, sore all over, dizzy, couldn't breathe, etc. Was it the flu? I have no idea and I don't care... I got better.

If the new strain starts in China (or the 'normal' way they start) then you would be able to make an impact... because that's how they 'predict' what viruses would impact us here.

I have had the flu shot maybe three times, twice of which were when my wife was pregnant. She gets one every year as she is a medical professional and is required by her employer. Of course, now she could be arrested if she gives one to someone who does not qualify.

Our boys have never had one. One is allergic to eggs and the younger one (1 1/2) is treated like he is allergic too.

My understanding is that the flu shots are only good for the strains they predict will be present this year. Can anyone confirm this?

My reaction to the media's infatuation to this is like the shark attacks a few years ago. Just something to focus on.

typical used panty liner tibor....

a doctor gets his ass kicked on the facts about this subject and he runs and hides...he cant even muster the curry for a comeback....

how scary is it that tibor knows less about the flu than i can discover on my own....

im telling you...there is no way in hell that tibor is a doctor....no way....no physician could have been that stupid.....

Wait. Wait. Wait. Are you telling me that if you get the flu vaccine, you're more susceptible to shark attacks? Damn, I'm glad they're short of the vaccine this year....Ohio is a killer for shark attacks.

It's the land sharks you really have to worry about.
