After this season these schedules simply wont work.

In 1957 OSU lost to TCU - and won the NC
In 1961 OSU tied TCU - and won the NC*
In 1968 OSU beat SMU - and won the NC
In 1970 OSU beat Texas A&M - and won the NC*
In 2002 OSU beat Texas Tech - and won the NC
In 2014 OSU did not play a single team from Texas - but they won the NC in Arlington.

I'm not waiting until 2025. Let's get some Texas schools on the schedule!

Big ten doing everything they can to call out the committee this offseason. A lot of news about how big ten teams are lightening up their future schedules because the committee counts number of losses more important than number quality wins. Doubt they actually go back to 8, but just trying to make a statement.

Ohio State adds another future non-conference game with in-state foe

Ohio State is once again continuing to keep a portion of its future non-conference slates in the state of Ohio.

In a press release Thursday, OSU announced that it has reached an agreement with Toledo for a one-off game in 2022. The Buckeyes and Rockets will, obviously, square off at Ohio Stadium, with the game scheduled to be played on Sept. 17 at a to-be-determined time.

OHIO STATE ANNOUNCES GAME TIMES FOR OREGON STATE, RUTGERS, INDIANA AND MICHIGAN

Kickoff times have now been set for five of Ohio State's 12 regular-season games this fall.

Ohio State's season opener against Oregon State on Sept. 1 will kick off at noon and be televised on ABC, while Ohio State's second game against Rutgers on Sept. 8 will kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network, the Big Ten announced Thursday afternoon. Both games will be played at Ohio Stadium.

The Buckeyes' third game of the season against TCU in Dallas on Sept. 15 will kick off at 8 p.m. and be televised on ABC, as the network previously announced earlier this month.

The Big Ten also announced that Ohio State's Oct. 6 home game against Indiana will kick off at either 3:30 p.m. or 4 p.m., on a TV network to be determined, while the Buckeyes' annual rivalry game against Michigan at Ohio Stadium on Nov. 24 will be televised on FOX and kick off at the traditional time of noon.

OHIO STATE TO PAY TOLEDO $1.8 MILLION FOR 2022 TRIP TO OHIO STADIUM, PER REPORT

93724_h.jpg

Ohio State will pay Toledo $1.8 million for the Rockets' trip to play the Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium on Sept. 17, 2022, according to a report by Nick Piotrowicz of the Toledo Blade.

It's not uncommon for the Buckeyes to pay more than $1 million to an opponent for a one-off non-conference home game, which they typically have two of each season. For example, Ohio State paid UNLV $1.3 million for its game at Ohio State last season. The Buckeyes paid $1.45 million to Army for its game at Ohio State last season, according to Land-Grant Holy Land's Matt Brown.

Per Piotrowicz's report, the Buckeyes will also make 5,000 tickets for the game available to Toledo, as is also standard practice.

I'm thinking that Ohio State should use a "low bidder" approach. Let each Ohio MAC school bid on the game, and low bidder gets it. What difference does it make whether we play Miami, Kent State, Akron, BG, Ohio, or Toledo, etc. Heck let the other MAC schools bid to, but give the Ohio schools (something like) a 10% advantage in the bidding.
