G D'Angelo Russell (Unanimous 1st Team All-American, All-Star, Los Angeles Lakers)

I think we are all happy for D’Angelo for his career. But in fairness to the Lakers, he wasn’t going to last there after the video incident. It was a mistake of youth, but a huge locker room transgression.

This incident is overstated. The Lakers changed head coach, GM, and most of the roster within a few months. The only players left from DLo's locker room at the start of the 17/18 season were Clarkson, Nance, and Randle, and obviously they all got dealt too.

The simplest explanation is usually the correct one: The Lakers have been a poorly run franchise for the last six seasons and they frequently make stupid personnel decisions. DLo didn't need to escape the Lakers to blossom, but he definitely needed to escape Byron Scott -- and the fucked up part is EVERYBODY knew it in 2015/16 and the Lakers tried to force it to happen anyway.

Yeah, the Lakers' front office has been a shit show over several years now. They really were trading D'lo to get rid of the dumbass contract they gave Timofey Mozgov to clear cap space. They got rid of one of their best assets to clear cap space to get LeBron, and now they are foolishly letting LeBron pressure them into making whatever dumbass personnel moves he wants no matter that he is the last person that they should be listening to. Rondo was the absolute worst possible addition for them last offseason, go ahead and sign him up. You need shooters around LeBron, they signed no shooters in FA. Then they cowered to LeBron and tried to trade their whole team for Unibrow. Apparently LA can't attract good free agents anymore, they have to trade assets to get talent - which perfectly explains the DLo trade:rofl:
