“That was the whole coming down here, I knew I wanted this offer very bad and if I had the chance to come down here I was going to earn it,” Lee told Buckeye Scoop. “And this is just a great place where I can better myself. Like Coach Day was talking about ‘fight, tough love,’ all that, and that’s what I am about.”

As is customary these days, we all find out a lot of recruiting information over social media, whether it is offers or top lists or even commitments. However, in these camp settings we are in the moment, so not everything has made it to social media yet. That was the case when talking to Lee about whether he felt like he earned an offer or not after competing against the wide receivers at the camp.

“Yessir, he actually offered me just a minute ago so that was a great feeling,” Lee said. “But all those wide receivers I went up against were very talented.

Just by talking to him, one could tell Lee was excited after earning an offer from Ohio State, but what made it even better for him was the opportunity to play with Miller at the next level. That opportunity is something the two have discussed, but it became even more real after getting the offer.

“Me and Christen have been talking about that since we’ve been here just vibing,” he said. “That’s my brother, man, and we see each other as real brothers. And I could see me going to college with him for real. We talk about that all the time.”

Nevertheless, Lee still has an open recruitment with plenty of visits planned for this summer after going through a 15-month dead period. He gave Buckeye Scoop a glimpse into what is next for him this June.

“I’ll be at UCF on Saturday and I’ll be at Arkansas, Ole Miss, and UGA,” he said. “I know I’ll be at UGA on the 17th but I just got to lock in those visits. I am most definitely going to take those visits while I am out of town.”

Following those June visits and camps, Lee is already eyeing a return trip to Columbus this fall. He will not only get to see everything again but also continue building his relationship with the coaching staff, something his high school coaches have been able to do over the years as well.

“They’re very high,” Lee told Eleven Warriors about Ohio State Friday afternoon. “There’s really no order right now, but they’re very high.”

In addition to OSU, Lee also included Georgia, Miami, Pittsburgh, Ole Miss, UCF, Notre Dame, Arkansas, Georgia Tech and Indiana in his top 10. The 6-foot, 160-pound defensive back’s recruiting process could move very quickly. Rated as the 87th-best player in the 2023 recruiting class and the ninth-best cornerback in 247Sports’ composite rankings, Lee said a verbal commitment may come before the start of his junior year.

“I’m trying to decide, I’ll probably be committed before my first game of the season,” Lee said. “So probably right around when August starts.”

Figuring out where he’s leaning is hard to tell. Lee said he is considering visiting Columbus at the end of July, but is undecided if he will end up making the trip. Even with a potential commitment coming next month, Lee said he also plans to visit OSU in the fall to attend a game. It may be hard to resist the allure of his hometown Bulldogs, Lee’s favorite team to follow growing up.

“It’s really cool,” Lee said of having an offer from Georgia. “That’s my dad’s favorite team, and I’m really high on them also.”
