I have zero concerns about OSU's recruiting on offense or defense at this time. I know people are freaking out about the lake of defensive verbals but they need to give it a little time. I still expect a stellar defensive haul come December.

We will be fine...

UGA hasn't won anything regardless of being 1 or 2 recruiting wise. Clemson has won 2 titles and dominated on the field even though they've finished as followed.
2019-10th
2018-7th
2017-16th
2016-11th
2015-9th

Clemson finally finished above us in 2019 other wise they never beat us in recruiting. Yet they've been the best program the past 5-6 seasons IMO.

UGA also has a big issue with kids leaving early and kids transferring. Eventually kids will get tired of finishing 2nd to Alabama or even LSU.

I firmly believe we need to start taking kids who we believe will be stars regardless of what their actual star ratings are. I also believe once our defense starts to turn heads a lot of kids will reconsider.

We have a lot of opportunity for kids after this season as we will probably lose 7+ starters on defense. Especially at DB were we did not take a DB in the 2018 class. We will put on a show and then get the kids we want.

Good for the kid though. Always good to stay home.

Easier said than done. Clemson has been the best team in the nation in developing talent after not being a top 3 recruiting team annually. Testament to the staff, and sometimes just plain luck. OSU had that luck with guys like Hooker, Lee and Ward to name a few.
But to stay on track, UGA is recruiting at a high level now, and I agree with you that this may taper off with kids growing tired of never winning the SEC. Smart will eventually turn into Richt in the eyes of the fans in a few years

So far to me, Day seems to be gearing his staff to be first of all great coaches and then recruiting 2nd.

I agree though. Clemson is the model in that if you believe a kid can play you offer him and coach him up. Recruiting ranking be darned.

I have said it for years and am still a believer that you need a perfect combination of high-end talent and kids that may fly under the radar but truly want to be Buckeyes from the word go.

Coaching, having talent that is just better than your opposition, having kids that buy-in to what u are doing, and having 3* kids that develop into NFL draft picks is the perfect recipe for a championship run......... Oh yeah, and an elite QB.
