Game Thread Game Five: Penn State 17, Ohio State 10 (Final)

We'll know more about PSU this weekend, since they're playing Minny. The NW game was on the road, so it's not much of a comparison point. The Gophers are going to Happy Valley, so PSU has to get up for two big games in a row. We'll also see how good that defense is against a real offense.

Minnie is too 1-dimensional to provide a constructive test of anything but run defense.

Northwestern on the other hand runs a spread -- which sounds awfully like a team we all know and love.

But our beloved team will likely run that offense more effectively.

AirTran and JetBlue have in-flight XM radio On XM, Big Ten games are on channels 197-199...I don't think that a portable XM receiver will work on other flights, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

I was wondering if an XM receiver would work on an airplane... but then it sucks that I am on a Continental flight eh?

Oh well, if I rush around the airport fast enough I can maybe see the last part of the 4th quarter. I still wish I could have gotten into Vegas fast enough to put a bet down on the game.

This is one of those games that always worries me.....a night game in BEAVER stadium....is very intimidating. That place is going to be rocking. Outside of the Shoe, its the loudest stadium ive ever been to. I hope we come out strong and prepared and not flat.

Besides the 'Shoe, i've been to scUM, PSU, Purdue, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Wisconsin plus many MAC schools and the Meadowlands and the Sugar Bowl. Besides the 'Shoe, Happy Valley is the loudest stadium in my experience. Definitely the 2nd hardest place to play in the Big 10.

As another option, Sirius carries college games as well. I don't think they have personal devices yet. I think you are allowed the electronic devices after takeoff until landing. Not sure if XM carries the games or not.
Here is XM's portable version:

after the 500th person asked me if I was going to the Ohio vs Penn State game, I've officially lost it on the dipshit Penn State fans. How a fanbase with the word STATE in their name can't figure out the difference between Ohio State and Ohio is beyond me....that's just how fucking retarded these people are. From now on, we are playing Penn in 2 weeks. retards.

Hey remember last year in the Shoe' we didn't throw but what 10 times? I think troy was 8-10 for maybe right around 100 yards. This is the same defense and the same offense. We ran the ball pretty well that day and didn't have to do much to win the game. I think OSU comes out and surprises Penn State with our approach on offense. The thing I think that we need to do to win the game is 1) avoid turnovers and 2) Win on Third down.

I think winning on third down might be the key to OSU. If we can't get off the field on third down and we let this crowd feed on that it will only make thier teams that much more determined to drive the field. However if we can get off the field and keep their defense on the field with 3rd down conversions that just puts the crowds to sleep. I hope we don't get too conservative and try to run safe plays. We played Loose last week and thats why we won BIG. I think we can, and will. GO BUCKS
