Anyone watch this on Sunday? I finally got around to watching it last night and it looks to be yet another great show from HBO.

Just watched it last night. Very cool show. I won't be seeing another episode as my Comcast tier is going to be downgraded this week. I'll have to live vicariously through the thoughts of others on this one.

I watched the first episode and liked it. I'll probably have to watch it again, so I can sort through all of the characters that were introduced in the first episode.

Here are a couple of things to help you out without any spoilers from the book (note: spoilers for people that have not seen the first episode)

I did get a little lost on the names too near the end, so this helped. Yet it's tough finding something that doesn't discuss the books (and therefore future spoilers). They had to put as much backstory as they could in the first episode, and I think they did a pretty good job without it being overwhelming. Yet I still needed a little help figuring out specific names. (Spoiler from the first episode) and yes, the two getting it on at the end are twin brother and sister.

Have you read the books? I'm intrigued by the storyline and thought I might enjoy reading the books before seeing another episode.

No, that is why I try and stay away from those discussions. I believe the first season is the first book, which is named "Game of Thrones." The series of books is actually named "A Song of Ice and Fire."

Anyway, I have heard good things about it, but I am a lazy, lazy man. So I will stick with the tv series. Besides, reading books always ruins the movie/tv series, and ends up in stupid discussions about "the book is so much better" or "I hate how they did [insert random statement] to [random character]." It destroys the immersion for me since I spend the whole time comparing the two.

Have you watched any of Camelot on Starz? 4 episodes thus far, and plenty of very good boobs. (as if theres any other kind?!)

The show won't be as good as Game of Thrones, and the character playing Arthur is kind of a whiny bitch but Merlin is cool and the boobs are spectacular.

I haven't actually read the books -or- watched the show yet, but I have some friends who are really into the books and are now watching the show. FWIW, they have all said that
a) The show has done a good job of being true to the books so far
b) They are both really good.

None of them spent time "comparing" them, they all just said that it was both a great series of books and looks to be a great tv series. So, it might be worth it to read the books anyway, because I've heard they're great, and they might not lead one to compare the two.
