I liked the fact that that he threw and hit the dragon that was:
1) a moving target and
2) a country mile away
when Dany and the rest of the living were sitting on a stationary dragon that was whole lot closer and immensely easier to hit

There are a million holes to poke. Why not send a dragon after the the Walkers before the NK goes Bruce Jenner? Why go north without dragon glass weapons like someone else said. Why not just fly a dragon to the north grab a zombie and fly it back? How much dragon glass does it take to kill a Walker? If they graze one with an arrowhead do they die or does it take a kill shot? It feels like thousands of archers on top of the wall with dragon glass arrows should be able to take out 10 walkers if they get close enough. We know now the dragons have to stay out of range of the walkers so how many walkers will die (if any) before they realize that they are up against dragon glass weapons? I'm guessing the NK won't make any mistakes until he becomes a dumbass and gives the war to the south. It will be interesting to see what Viserion breaths. He was spewing fire out of his neck on the way down so I don't think he can breath fire anymore, but we'll see. It isn't like the dead heal. A fire breathing dragon would sure help open a hole in the wall.

I think regardless of popularity HBO is tired of dropping 100+ mil on a season of GoT so we get 4 seasons of material packed into a season and a half of shows. They want to get this show wrapped so they can start making spin-offs for a quarter of the cost. GRRM must be having just as much trouble writing the end game so I can't give them too hard of a time. I'd give GRRM a 50/50 chance of even finishing the story on his own at this rate.

As I mentioned before, the lead actors' ages is one reason to work towards a conclusion. But another is cashing out while the show is at its peak in audience numbers and pop culture consciousness. Pulling 11m viewers for an hour long medieval high-fantasy themed action/political soap opera, in the summer no less, is insane... and not sustainable.

I'd think this is exhausting for the principle production crews too. Going back to s6e9, the Battle of the Bastards, they'll have churned out about 15 hours of summer blockbuster level action sequences and CGI until the series finale. That'd be like Peter Jackson making five Lord of the Rings movies in just three years.

It looked like Ser Jorah had a dragon glass dagger, but I could be wrong. Not sure why they weren't loaded up with dragon glass like many have said. But it looked like a couple of weapons in the battle were shiny black blades.

GoT is forced to cut some CGI corners that Peter Jackson wouldn't be able to do. All of the battles are much less epic than they would be in a blockbuster although they are filming 7+ hours of material for half the price of an Avengers/Justice League type movie. I didn't watch the Warcraft movie last year, but from what I remember of the commercials GoT looks to have better production value. It is amazing what they do with their budget. Imagine what it would be like if they could have 200 mil to produce a 2:30 series finale to be released in theaters next summer.

I feel like I'm one of the few people that doesn't give a crap about the whole "fast travel" stuff. Yes, I understand some things time wise shouldn't be possible. But 1)it's a TV show about dragons, zombies, ice people, etc. Time is the least of my concern. 2)They have to wrap up everything they need to in 7 episodes this time, they don't have time to spend on showing them moving. They have to get from start to finish much quicker this season.

When I first read 'a clash of kings' my initial thought was that it was pretty boring because it was just a bunch of characters moving around the map and nothing really happened- so it's a balancing act.

That's the thing. If this exact plot happened in season 3, they would have spent 2 episodes sitting on the island wondering if they were going to freeze or starve, and been out there for 2 days. Instead, it took about 15 minutes and were time forwarded about a day and a half.

So Sansa doesn't recall that she hates and distrusts Littlefinger? And she also doesn't apply what he says about motive to what he is saying? Meanwhile the all seeing brother sits around doing nothing and the master spy shape shifting sister also just sits idly by doing nothing?

Fucking hell if that doesn't resolve itself in a way that doesn't make Sansa seem like her character arc has not progressed at all from being the dumb naive little girl in season one.

I'm not all the way through the episode yet.

Edit: I'm glad I typed that in real time.
