Game Thread Game Seven: Ohio State 41, Indiana 10 (final)

Of 43 net yards rushing for Indiana, 21 of them came bench vs. bench on the last possession of the game.

And Nebraska gave up 80 yds rushing to brad smith ON ONE PLAY.

Guess who's gonna be back at number one in the Rushing D category.

And guess what type of team we play this week? We will be tested against Minny. Time for our D to make another statement.

Troy Smith

It seems like every year the Buckeyes offense finally get things rolling after playing Indiana. Is it me, or does Troy Smith ever pitch the ball on an option? I thought there were a few opportunities this afternoon he could of swung it out to pitman for a bigger gain.

Yeah I know, maybe we couldve won by 40 then!!!

Stop complaining, we got the job done and thats all that matters.

QBs are coached to hold the ball until a direct threat impedes them. Depending on who is left unblocked as the primary read, Smith will usually keep the ball. It seemed like IU was playing the pitch with the OLB and relying on the DE to handle QB responsibility...easy read there.

I think we need to give props on both scheme and execution for the shotgun option play.

On both TD's I called it before they lined up.

I'm sure the defense knows their tendencies too, but today it didn't matter.

You might say it was b/c they were facing inferior talent, but this is a play they've executed all year - even against better defenses (e.g. Iowa).

My prediction - JT will have someking of wrinkle off of this play / formation for the scUM game.

I don't think I have ever seen a more incompetent officiating crew in my life. I hate to blame refs, but this is getting ridiculous.
I think they all ate one of these before stepping on the field...
