AMES, Iowa -- Julian Edelman threw for 161 yards and a touchdown to lead Kent State to a 23-14 victory over Iowa State Thursday night in the debut of new Cyclones coach Gene Chizik.

Eugene Jarvis added 113 yards rushing for Kent State (1-0), which won despite committing three red-zone turnovers. Iowa State (0-1) couldn't take advantage, and Kent State seized control with two scores late in the third quarter.

Jarvis capped an 12-play, 56-yard drive with a 2-yard touchdown run to give the Golden Flashes a 16-14 lead. Iowa State quarterback Bret Meyer then made a critical error on the next series, forcing a throw into coverage. Brian Lainhart took an interception back to the Iowa State 8, and Edelman's 3-yard plunge put Kent State ahead by nine.

Kent State Game Starting Time??

Can I just get a freakin start time for the game??? How am I supposed to plan my trip up and decide how many beers need to be drunk by a certain time if I can't get a start time?? I'm thinking it'll be a 12 game but someone give me confirmation.. I dont want to see TBD one more time unless its followed by a BITL!

There is no determined time yet. (though 12:00 is probably what it will be)

We are usually told when the next Home Game will be at the previous Home Game. (so that we know when to show up for work) But even we got "TBD" for Kent State in our Game Day notes at the Northwestern Game.

But the speculation is that it should be a noon game. Sorry, that's the best I got right now.

I checked the Ohio State Athletic site & they now list the Kent State Game as a 12:00 start (as we figured) and being broadcast on the Big Ten Network. ( :( sorry)

It's nice that we can rest some players...

But how disappointing is this matchup..

We make a point last nite to the country by beating down Purdue... we're set to rise in the polls.. People are beginning to talk OSU and NC game..

And now we play Kent St...and then Michigan St. who ruined their season by losing to pathetic NW..

How sweet would a game vs Cincy be right now.. wish that game was scheduled like it usually is or wish we had somebody decent to play this week..

Our next 2 opponents, KSU and MSU, are tied for 3rd in the nation in kick-off returns.

Ohio State is 106th in the nation in kick-off returns.

We are doomed.

Due to the short-sightedness of the coaching staff, we get the fewest game reps for kick-off returns of any team in the country. The results speak for themselves.

I hope we can at least make a game out of it.

Its stats like these that concern me too...Im off to church to start praying for the Buckeyes!!!!
