[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]MADISON ? Not even a 30-point win prevented University of Wisconsin football coach Bret Bielema from jotting down a few items for his weekly to-do list.

And No. 1 on the sheet this week is pounding the point home to his offense that in this business, it?s much better to receive than give.

?The great thing was ? it?s baby steps around here ? we got the turnovers,? Bielema said following a 33-3 Big Ten thumping of Indiana on Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium. ?Now we?ve just got to work on the offense.?

to support the Big Ten and tOSU. How much more does it cost? DirecTV folks gave me BTN and NFL network as a part of their $39.99 line up. No extra charge. It didn't cost me anything. Ofcourse they got my business instead of TW.

Guess who owns the BTN.

It costs $1.10 per person to watch BTN. TW wants to make it so whoever wants it can pay the extra. BTN won't agree till they put it on everyone's cable box.

Not sure if it goes here or on the BTN Network thread.
Big Ten Network Adds Ohio State-Wisconsin to Nov. 3 Slate

Marquee match-up has national championship implications

CHICAGO ? Ohio State's quest for a national championship continues this Saturday on the Big Ten Network as the Buckeyes host 19th-ranked Wisconsin for a noon ET kickoff.

The Big Ten Network's top broadcast team of Thom Brennaman, Charles Davis and Charissa Thompson will call the action from Ohio Stadium.

"We are thrilled to be able to televise a November match-up between two nationally-ranked teams and one that will not only affect the race for a Big Ten Championship, but a national championship,"" Big Ten Network President Mark Silverman said.

"We have reached distribution agreements with virtually every provider in Ohio and Wisconsin except Time Warner and Charter. There are a variety of options for fans to see the game. Unfortunately, those options do not include Time Warner and Charter," Silverman said.

The Big Ten Network is available on most of the largest cable and satellite providers in Ohio and Wisconsin including DIRECTV, DISH Network, Wide Open West, Insight Communications and Buckeye Cable.

The network will also televise Indiana-Ball State at noon ET and Illinois-Minnesota at 8 PM ET.

Ohio State (9-0, 5-0 Big Ten) will enter Saturday's contest as the nation's top-ranked team. The Buckeyes received 56 of 60 possible first-place votes in the USA Today coaches' poll following a convincing 37-17 road win at 25th-ranked Penn State on Saturday night.

The Badgers (7-2, 3-2 Big Ten) climbed to No. 19 in the coaches' poll after a 33-3 victory against Indiana. Wisconsin has defeated Ohio State in each of its last three trips to Columbus (1999, 2001 and 2004).

The network also announced that it will televise the Michigan State-Purdue and Iowa-Minnesota games on Nov. 10. Both contests will kick off at noon ET.

Through distribution partnerships with more than 150 cable and satellite operators, the Big Ten Network became the first new network in cable or satellite television history to reach 30 million homes in its first 30 days.

About the Big Ten Network:
The Big Ten Network, dedicated to covering the Big Ten Conference and its 11 member institutions, launched August 30, 2007. The network provides unprecedented access to an extensive schedule of conference sports events and shows; original programs in academics, the arts and sciences; campus activities; and associated personalities. Sports programming includes live coverage of more major men's and women's events than ever before, along with news, highlights and analysis, all complemented by hours of university-produced campus programming. The network is available to all cable companies, with most programs offered in stunning high-definition television (HDTV). The Big Ten Network is a joint venture between subsidiaries of the Big Ten Conference and Fox Cable Networks.

UW football: Badgers 'amped up' to face No. 1 Buckeyes

Jim Polzin ? 10/29/2007 6:07 am
University of Wisconsin junior right guard Kraig Urbik sat in a chair in the McClain Center Sunday evening and delivered the line with a straight face.
Addressing the topic of the Badgers' game at top-ranked Ohio State, Urbik said, "To us, it's just the next game."
It appeared he believed in what he was saying. And Urbik made a good point when he went on to say that UW can't let the idea of playing the No. 1 team in the nation in one of the most famous venues in college football affect the way it prepares for Saturday's game.
But this isn't "just the next game" for the Badgers. As senior quarterback Tyler Donovan put it, it's the "biggest game I'll probably ever play in."
That's why, whether the UW players and coaches choose to admit it or not, there probably will be an extra buzz in the locker room and at practice this week.
"It's definitely one that you'll never forget," Donovan said. "Obviously, playing the No. 1 team in the country, it's a special thing."

Nevada? You mean UNLV?

Indiana is not comparable to Northern Illinois. 30 points was the biggest margin of victory against the Hoosiers this season. How'd the Badgers look in the games prior? If you would have paid attention, that was my point. The Badgers already had played similar or worse teams earlier in the season and eeked out victories. Like I said, Penn State allowed 31 points against Indiana and Wisconsin 3. That shant be ignored. The point isn't that Indiana's offense is on par with OSU. The point is that on a given Saturday, UW's defense is capable of playing MUCH better than PSU's if they play to their potential.

What the IU game showed is that Indiana played a terrible game - they play much worse on the road vs you than they did at home vs PSU. Road games, by the way, are the true test of how good a team is. How have your road games gone this year?

And if you think your defense's potential is much greater than PSU's defensive potential - you really aren't in touch with reality. You much be watching the games in fast forward when your D is on the field - I don't see how otherwise you could miss how slow your defense is.

If you think you're coming here and scoring more than mid-teens, forget it.

This should be an interesting game, we have rouneded out really well. All year it's been "They are a great defensive team but can they actually move the ball?" After last week I think that would be a yes, Wisconsin is so up and down it's not even funny, but if they get rolling they can put up points, although after seeing how the Zookster manhandled them I hope they are in for a long day.
