Game Thread: Notre Dame 38, Stanford 31 (Final)

Reality Alert -- Mark May just stopped making sense to me - the world has returned to normalcy.
He is now defending Barnett, saying that Colorado should not fire the coach that was "in charge" of the most scandalous program of the modern game. "In charge" being defined apparently as having fast dial numbers for ten high priced lawyers on your cell phone.

I don't understand why the TV people even care about Barnett...if a school wants to keep a guy that goes 6-5 or 7-4 every year and drags the reputation of the university down to 80's Miami and 80's Oklahoma proportions, more power to them. DOn't medicore coaches with scandals usually get fired? Oh no, wait...Holtz coached for quite a while, didn't he?

Well just ask them how they felt after the 2000 season when they pulled this bullshit only to go get ass raped by Oregon State 41-9.

in fact look how eerily similar 2000 was to their 2005 campaign

Fella effectively stands by while rapists continue on scholarship - that's when the hammer should come down.

I'm lenient on many things, but, maltreatment of women is never one of them.

Well, if it makes you feel better, Lou is also certain that W. Va. Will Not be humiliated in a BCS bowl - I know, it begs our credulity, but Lou said it, so it must be true.:wink2:

WVA's new QB could make things tough on a slow, weak, listless, and underachieving D...so, yeah, unless they play ND, they will get humiliated in a BCS game.

I don't get it?

EDIT: Ohhh, I think you forgot that Lou's definition of being a humiliation is much, much lower than yours. :)

All anyone talks about when they're talking about Notre Dame is their offense. Sportscenter just put up a graphic that shows how well their offense is doing compared to their past ones. Do people remember that you're suppossed to have a defense? That's the reason they lost to USC, Michigan St., and almost Stanford.

Defense? What the hell? :shake:

Righty you are. There is a reason why it's cliche to say Defense win championships. Because......... welll

Defense win championships.

Here is an article by espn.com on the game. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=253300024

Two things I noticed that are really wrong:

1. It said Notre Dame proved they are deserving of a BCS bowl invite(in the first paragraph).
2. It said Stanford played the second toughest schedule in the nation. How can that be when they play in the Pac-10 and played a division 1-aa team? Ohio St. without a doubt has played the toughest schedule in the nation.
