This team lost their entire linebacking corps (best in the Mountain West last season) which accounted for over 300 tackles. In addition, they lost their top 7 tacklers overall. I believe they return 3 starters in D. Time to get our running game fine tuned and keep the Aztecs (offense) off the field.

Three things I would like to see come from this game.

1. The players swallow the tough lose show their pride and come out and play buckeye football.

2. Tressel stays with one qb, and we come out of the game with a starter.

3. Run the ball, and I don't just mean the handoff out of the shotgun, I want to mix it up with some Iso, Dives, Tosses, Sweeps, option, and Counters. Pittman has proven to me to be an everydown back now get him the ball and let him put up over 200 on them.

edit - one more thing. Run a screen. :)

Stick with one QB (I don't care who at this point), run the ball, use this game to find a solution for our lack of redzone production. The spread is great and all, but we lack a grind-it-out-guaranteed-three-yards big back (Brandon Joe, I miss you). Schnittker's gotta step up. What about Stan White Jr.? Is he only used for blocking? If anything, dial up that draw play that Texas executed to perfection a gajillion times on Saturday. We bit every time Young faked a hand off to the TB, and we HAD to because they had a threat at RB as well as QB, not to mention amazing blocking by the TB (was it Selvin Young? or Melton? didn't know the players numbers). Replace Melton/Selvin with Schnittker/White and Young with Smith and we might have something there.

Also, flanker screen to Ginn eleventeen times a quarter...

Kind of brings back bad memories of cooper playing two qb's all the time. I agree stick with a qb. Hopefully Smith. it just seems zwick always has one play that blows everything up for the buckeyes....

What I want to see for this game is one of the QBs take command. I don't care who it is I just want to see someone step in run the offense crisply. Heck why not make it a total farce of a QB competition and do this... First 2 series Zwick, next 2 series Smith and then the next 2 series Boeckman. :biggrin: While that was said in jest it could happen...

I also want to see us switch our base formation from the shotgun to the one back or I-Formation once we get inside the 20s and just run ahead to see what happens.

I have used all of Saturday night (mostly due to no sleep) and all of Sunday to consider, reconsider, change my mind, then change it back about the Texas game. I am officially done. BRING ON THE AZTECS. Just step one in winning out. :oh: :osu2: :io:

Exactly! Heck, after this week, OSU will probably move up at least 2 spots in the polls because #5 and #6 play each other and #8 FSU will lose at BC. If we win out, we will be in GOOD shape in the BCS!

You know, this probably belongs on the "AP Poll" thread, but I cant find it now. Anyway, I am not really unhappy in dropping to 9th. What I am unhappy about is the fact that FSU is 8th. So that means FSU is better than us in the pollsters' eyes. Did they not watch FSU against Miami? I think my high school team could beat them.

I feel the same way. But I'm not worried about it because if we win out I think we automatically go to #4. FSU will lose more than once this year.

Imagination?

Make the game fun since the pressure is off after Big Game I. I give you 3 plays: 1) Fake reverse toGinn -run Pitman on a slant. 2) Fake reverse Screen to Hall or Pitman 3) Reverse Pass let Ginn throw one. Finally, show Ginn some love get him the ball any way possible! Fire up Bucks
