Game Thread Game Three: Ohio State 27, San Diego State 6 (final)

Air Force beat SDSU last week largely by using a great game from their fullback and some nice long TD throws. He need to pressure them and let the defense score a touchdown or two.

They have talent at several positions and as most have said, the last time we played them they gave us a scare. Somebody mentioned Gugalicki, the qb we saw last time. He is still on the team but kevin O'Connell should start with Darren Mougey next. They really do have three pretty good qbs.

If we execute a little better on offense and play with pride, its ours.

if anyone on this board thinks that SDSU will have even the slightest chance, then i pray that god will help you. after the texas disappointment, these guys are so hungry and want to prove that they are better than they played, this will be an ugly game.

If we play at par with the Texas game we are going to kill these guys. We are one of the top 3 schools in Div1. I feel sorry for the Aztecs. We need to tackle better and have WR's and TE's catch the ball...no dropsies.
I can't add awards in this forum, but if I could you would get one. Not because what you said is so profound and thought provoking, but because you are one of few people who actually grasp this easy concept. I'll just give you some rep.

no way, play some woody hayes football, find out who can take the pouding at running back, line them up and hit them in the mouth.

If we played Woody Ball then I feel confident in saying we would not have lost to Texas. But with that being said I agree cram the ball down their throat...

I couldn't disagree more strongly.

You line up in the I and try and run it down the throat of any big time team today and you are gonna lose big. The talent difference is just not there, you must spread it out and let your athletes play in space.

BTW, I think some folks use terms like "Woody ball" a little too loosely without understanding how extreme it really was back then. Woody once ran the ball 84 times in one game....let that sink in a bit before saying it's Woody ball anytime someone runs more than twice in a row.

Don't look past SDSU. They aren't as bad as many of you would believe. Remember Lynell Hamilton??? He was a freshman and had 73 yards on 17 carries against us...he's still there and as good as ever.

They can score but struggle on defense...so if we play conservative two-quarterback offense, this one could at least have us very uncomfortable at half.

I'm just saying not to be too quick to dismiss these guys.

Dismissed. Sorry Oiler, but we beat texas for 58 minutes. I think we can handle SDSU. Start gameplanning for Penn State. Paint the endzones.

Your dismissal is reversed. We will gameplan for SDSU and not Penn State. 99% of this board felt we would beat Texas. Maybe some people need to get their heads out of the clouds and realize that we can be beaten. If not for an unbelievable interception return by Will Allen two years ago, we lose that game. Coach Tressel will have the kids focused on the task at hand. Then and only then do we win this game.
