Game Thread Game Two: Ohio State 20, Akron 2 (Final)

I guess I'm not surprised

OSU's D was superb today. But geez, where's the props... even a friggin little... for the Akron D today?

Their offense COMPLETELY hung them out to dry against the #12-team in the country, and they only gave up 20 points. Not only that, they score on a safety.

Can't you people even give those kids a crumb?

Shame on you.

P.S. And you wonder why you hate you guys.

Glad to see you showed up to cry. :roll2: Is this where I make another sarcastic slam about whiny MAC fans? I'm trying to keep up... since you signed up just to bash us because we aren't classy fans. Great logic there.

Akron did a good job today. The question is was Akron that good, or was OSU's blocking yet again mediocre? Or some of both?

OSU's run blocking was lousy for the first 6 quarters this season. Is YSU also a fierce defense, or might that speak to a more alarming trend, which has us buckeye fans worried?

All zip fans are welcome all-season that wish to talk football. Those who wish to throw hypocritical temper tantrums, please stay on your boards.

Uh, this is an Ohio State board, so the discussion is going to be about Ohio State football. Not Akron, not YSU and not even Bowling Green. Deal with it.

OK, if MAC boy wants us to talk about Akron, let's talk about Akron.

I for one am not as sanguine as everyone else about our defense because the Zip's offense is truly horrific. I mean really, really bad. I'm talkin' "The Avengers" with Sean Connery and Uma Thurman bad.

Don't get me wrong; I think this D will be great by the end of the year. But Akron's offense couldn't score on Paris Hilton.

We'll find out about the D next week.

Well thanks for that, Debbie Downer. :sad2:

Getting hate from Akron is sort of like when people in Bhutan or Mauritania protest outside the US embassy-it's not significant enough even to care about.
On a football note, Akron is a good MAC team and Brookhart is an excellent coach and recruiter-there-are you happy-enjoy him while you have him-probably not for much longer.

I've only read through the last three or four pages of the thread so forgive me if that has been discussed, but Akron's punter looked great today. Without a doubt, he was Akron's MVP, and honestly was probably the game's MVP (before you jump on me, you can argue that he changed the game in his team's favor more than any other player on the field).

Washinton

Washington is the worst tackler on the roster. His performance on ballcarriers today was humiliating. Against a team like Wisconsin that likes to grind it out, I say put Clifford in there, that's an improvement in that respect. On another note, anyone think Jemario O'Neal earned any PT with his solid play late today?

Washington got ran over by their fullback today and did not rap up in that incidence. Yet he is currently our second best cover man behind only Jenkins. So I wouldnt expect to see Clifford in there.
