Please Beat Texas!!!

The Shorthorns are coming over to the FSU boards saying next year is their year and they have a weak schedule. Not even considering coming to the Shoe as a test. Nobody can handle Vince Young, blah, blah, blah.

I feel like a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest. Telling them that OSU's defense will be the toughest D they play and that OSU has 18 returning starters.

Kick their a$$ and shut them up!!!

I follow OSU since I live here and the local media does not report on anything else. When someone posts something I disagree with, whether it has to do with FSU or not, I will post. I will back OSU against other teams, my wife and her family are alums and some are members of the Varsity O, so I have a little allegiance to OSU.

Our board gets activity from posters from all different schools talking football. When there is a general thread asking about who will win the MNC next year, or toughest schedule or something like that the responses are from Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, Big East and from the mid majors. It is generally good football talk.

I posted this because it seemed there are a lot of Texas fans on the FSU board smack talking about recruiting and how they are going to be the best team next year. Tired of hearing it from them.

I hate chokelahoma, but as long as OU plays Texas, Mack will be Bob's little bitch. So I don't see how next year will be the "year" for Texas.

As them how many national titles their recent top recruiting classes have won them.

Ask them if they think they may even play Oklahoma close for a change this season, seeing as they're 0-5 the last five seasons, losing by an average score of 38-11.

You may also want to remind them that Oklahoma State said after the Alamo Bowl that Ohio State's defense was the best they faced all last season, including the same Sooner defense that held Texas to 240 yards total offense and 0, that's 0, points.

Vince Young will be what Brad Smith of Missouri was coming into this year, the great big Heisman hype...and he'll do just what Brad Smith of Missouri did, absolutely flop.

Texas has 2 losses coming to them this year, one here in the shoe and the other is their annual beatdown by OU.

Texas' schedule

I think the Buckeyes beat Texas in the shoe but I think the Horns get by OK next year as the Sooners break in their new QB. Peterson will once again be a beast in the running game but I think their passing game cohesion will be less than spectacular thus upsetting the balance that they have used to kick butt during the last couple years.

I see Texas losing one other game although I think it will surprise everyone, especially Texas. Texas will have some great lines next year but I think ours will be sufficient to beat them if we can give Zwick enough time. You can mark it that Zwick and not Smith will play against the Longhorns.

I for one hope the Texas football team comes into Columbus thinking they will lasso the Bucks and brand 'em. That would be our fondest hope.

The Bucks are gonna take Texas to a road-a-o they haven't yet attended. Bevo, bless his horns, will be sliced and diced into Ohio State sushi before its all over.

And e-spin will be piss'n their Texas britches.

Live in Texas since 2000(got married so had to move from Ohio) and already nervous about this game. Tx. returns (i think their entire O-line), Vince, and young talent at running back. their d maybe down a little but we are playing Tressel ball on offense.... Just don't want to have to listen to these fools down here if the unthinkable would happen. Any early thoughts on this game?

Last year, Texas' big non-conference road game was at Arkansas, which they won by the intimidating score of 22-20. I'm sure the Bucks are shaking in their boots at the thought of facing these "road warriors." The last time they faced a Big Ten team on the road? I went back through 1960 and couldn't find such a match-up. The closest was a series split (1-1) against a pre-Big Televen Penn St. squad in 89-90. They also lost 55-27 to Notre Dame in South Bend in 1995. In other words...they got nothing to go on.
