xray, we're still waiting for anyone to agree with you on the pittman or gonzales complaint. The melton thing was stupid on his part, what part of 270 lbs does he not understand? You have video evidence? ABC didn't have anything convincing otherwise, so you must have had your own camera crew. :shake:

My point was there were lucky breaks, but your team deserves all the credit for your win. When you win a game, there really is no reason to go back and whine about what could have happened.

Those video clips of Melton were taken from the game video and they are conclusive. His right foot is on the graound in the first two frames and possibly the third when the ball crossed the plane. His toe is 4.5 feet from the goal line and about the same from the side line. The yard markers are 24 inches long and set 4 inches from the sideline, so frame 4 gives you a good refernec how far in bounds his foot was. He is also holding the ball about 4.5 feet off the ground.

The distance from where his toe is touching and a point 4.5 feet above the pylon is almost 8 feet. He is only 6'3" and is not holding the ball 8 feet from his toe. Therefor He must be in bounds.

At your request I will prepare similar clips of the Pittman fumble and Gonzo being down short of the first down.

wow, talk about being obsessed with things that don't matter. I can't imagine how miserable your life is when you lose games. Go watch the gonzalez play, his knee doesn't hit the ground. Was it pittman whose back hit the ground and the ball popped out, or was that holmes?

That was Holmes, Pitt was also down. It was the play where he hurt his knee.

As for Randy, you are pretty obsessed about that Melton thing. I don't know how you can say it is conclusive without a view from the endzone showing wheter the ball was inside the pylon. Also if you want to get technical you can't really tell if the ball crosses the pylon b/c the view is from an angle and not at a 0 degree angle.

thanks for the clarification... haven't seen a replay yet.

xray, why not revel in the joy of your win? VY overcame brutal hit after brutal hit, and silenced all of his critics. He still has work to do for the pros (sidearm won't get it done, forcing the sack-INT), but he's a great college QB.

And your defense was unbelievable. Nobody expected you to have that much success guarding our WRs. Most thought the DL could be disruptive before we got separation, but your guys were fantastic.

THAT is what you should be focusing on.

Even if his elbow doesn't hit, the ball doesn't start coming out before frame seven. And his butt looks pretty down at that point.

That knee looks awfully weird in the gonzo shot. Since you clearly have the video, care to make video files and upload them to putfile? There's a reason they use video and not screenshots to judge replays.

you really need something better to do with your time.

Here is the Pittman Fumble. As you can see his knee does not touch until fram e 9 and by that time the ball is completely out of his control.

I'll give you the Melton TD because its just too damn hard to tell and I absolutely agree that they missed the Gonzalez call. It sure looked to me like he pushed off with his knee on that one.

On the Pittman fumble, however, I disagree. It certainly looks to me like his elbow and/or buttocks are on the ground in frame 7, when the ball is still (mostly) cradled in the crook of his arm. Is it possible to get a better series of pictures on that play? The ones up there are pretty damn fuzzy, especially when enlarged.
