Do I need to play the original Killzone (or Resistance) to enjoy the 2nd game? I'm obviously not in a rush but at this price it is worth waiting on a deal on the original if the storyline is important.

Ehh. The original story and invasion of Vekta are solid, the gameplay had some issues if memory servers. Google the storyline to get caught up. I played it in reverse, though. Kill zone 2 then bought a copy of KZ used. I still caught on and thoroughly enjoyed - ultimately I didn't find it to be worth buying the original.
