Glenville Football Player (Anthony Gordon)Shot and Killed

Not sure where the appropriate place for this thread would be but...

Just heard on the news that a Glenville football player (16yrs old) by the name of Anthony Gordon was shot and killed at a rap concert in the East side of the flats here in Cleveland.

He was hoping to play college ball someday, not familiar with the name but he may have been only a soph.

Fight Started In Club Chaos

CLEVELAND -- A teenager was killed after he was shot in the head in the Flats early Sunday morning.

Witnesses said a fight started in Club Kaos just after midnight. It spilled into the street outside.

When police arrived, Anthony Gordon, 16, of East Cleveland, was found shot several times at West 10th and Main streets.

He was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police have no suspects and have made no arrests at this time.

Officials said there was a rap concert for juveniles at the club Saturday night. Hundreds of people poured into the streets when it ended.

Its sad to hear stuff like this. I heard about this early, but knowing that he is one of Ted Ginn's 'kids' just puts a face to the name I read about earlier; it only makes it harder to hear.

My prayers go out to all of his family, friends, classmates.

It's sad to hear about someone who died at that young age. Plus he played for Glenville, which has aton of great athletes! So he shoulda been pretty good. I am sorry to hear that!

CLEVELAND -- A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed in fighting that erupted during a rap concert at a downtown nightclub, police said.
The violence from the Kaos Nightclub spilled into the streets and gunfire went off as officers from four city districts tried to defuse the situation about 12:20 a.m. Sunday.Officers discovered Anthony Gordon at an intersection in the Flats, the city's riverfront entertainment district. He was taken to a hospital and died of multiple gunshot wounds.Police arrested several people who were fighting, but no one in the shooting. Police don't know if a gun recovered at the scene was used in the teen's death.Children as young as 9 were caught in the crowd, Lt. Thomas Stacho said."We saw paramedics pull up, and we saw police running into the club," said John Hugens, who had just arrived in the Flats with friends. "People were just running everywhere."Gordon attended Glenville High School and was a running back on the football team, said his coach, Ted Ginn.
