For Florida v. Tennessee....any suggestions from anyone that has been there before?
My Brother In Law got down for the same game a couple of times.

He remembered this place:

Shamrock's

After enough low cost Guiness I guess its not surprising he remembered little esle.

Great atmosphere! Loudest Stadium I've ever been in!

They are loud constantly, even thru timeouts...it's ridiculous! As for pregame festivities, I remember we headed "up" the main drag/"to the left" of Ben Hill if you're facing the front of the stadium and found all kinds of parties to "crash" and mingle...good times!

Make sure your immunizations are up to date and retain your sanity by knowing they don't leave the area often so the gene pool is, for the most part, safe.

Other than that I'll give you my condolences ahead of time. Any time spent with Gator fans is time spent poorly. They have Miami arrogance, Purdue tradition and make Marshall fans look like a MENSA chapter.

Nose plugs are recommended. You'll be near thousands of sweaty fans constantly flapping their fully extended arms up and down doing that Gator chomp.

If your with your wife or girlfriend, WEAR DARK TINTED SUNGLASSES.

Actually, I live in the Jacksonville area and the Swamp is a great place for college football. Especially when Tenn. comes to town. It is like having The Shoe right on High Street. Football Stadium sits just off the main drag.

NaplesBuckeye: You are in for a treat in traditional college football when you enter "The Swamp". The tradition started long before Charlie Pell and Steve Spurrier. The "university of Florida" is well noted for their research & recovery of Cancer thru-out the world. Yes - it is very loud down there - even louder than the "Shoe" because of its smaller size.

The fans of Florida are just as passionate as our Buckeyes, but somewhat different, because of the southern style of culture. The Campus venue and atmosphere is somewhat equal to being on Lane ave in C-bus. But the tailgaiting and hineygate in Columbus is not quite reached that level.

In the fourth quarter they have a long standing tradition of something of simaliar to the 7th inning stretch in baseball. All Florida fans stand up and wrapp each other, arm in arm by singing "We are the Boys from ole Florida" I was taken buy surprise by that gesture and then i realized it was a form of good college "Tradition".

Tennessee has a hard time beating the Gators in the "swamp" You are in for a treat but the Gator Chomp is something i just dont care for. Enjoy yourself - you are in for a treat.
