Golden Gophers vs Tulsa

Just started watching. Minny is up 17 zip with no time left in the first qtr having just made a real poor decision to field a punt and "muffed" it over to Tulsa. A real ugly muff, too.

I'm thinking OSU is really smarter than this. I'm also thinking that given the decision to play for Minny or Tulsa, you pick Minny every time, so this game, even though it's at Tulsa should transpire with Minny way ahead.

In fact I think Minny could challenge for the Big 12 title if they were in that conference, but I think they'll just have to live with being better than Michigan this year.

BTW: I think Northwest and Penn St. will both be better than Michigan this year. BG, Miami & Toledo, probably too. But that's just me. I'd like to see Mount Union play Michigan or Florida State.

funny that you mentioned Minny being better than [SUB]scUM[/SUB] this year... last year, they should have won, but lost, and in '03 the Gophers rushed for OVER 400 yards against the Weasels, and still managed to lose... IIRC, a QB throwback to Oaktree Navarre went for a 50 yard TD to get [SUB]scUM[/SUB] back in the game...

as much as i like and respect Glen Mason, he has a mental block when it comes to tSUN...

as it stands, Maroney is a stud, and may very well challenge for the national rushing title, and the WRs are solid, but Cupito is far too erratic to lead Minn to the promised land...

i'm not sold on the Gophers' D, either... 5th place in the Big Ten is realistic...

Big 12 North yes they could easily challenge for that title but as for for a conf. as a whole no way, they would be 4th or 5th at best.

I'll give you Tejas and OK, but Minny is the equal or better than Tech and A&M...JMHO, we shall see. Of course, as has been noted, it is entirely possible for Glen Mason to have the talent to win a game and to squander it, so you never know.
