I tried checking out the house I grew up in between West Jeff and Columbus, and it said that it didn't have zoom detail about that region. I think it has something to do with an installation called Batell(sp?) that was just down the road from us. There isn't any detail on the whole Batell area. We never knew what went on there, but what ever it was we would hear sirens in the day time followed by explosions. Its kinda scary thinking back on it.

probly not. you cant zoom in to my house either. :p

60s and 70s technology used to be able to read license plates on cars...and that was with film. Not sure about reading newsprint from orbit, but it's pretty damn close, and that was according to an unclassified briefing I had quite a while back.

Now its not just reading it. Its determining topography down to the centimeter, density of objects and shit like that with lasers. Its pretty cool technology.

The shear fact alone that it was unclassified lets you know they have much more.
