Gotham Classic: tOSU vs. Delaware, Wed 12/18 @ 7p ET, BTN

Yeah, the 70 mark is the one that nobody has gotten against OSU thus far.

I like the team that OSU has this year with many guys capable of contributing. But definitely you'd like to see Shannon playing a lot better and Sam also you know he can play a little better than this.

Delaware was a very nice team but I was somewhat disappointed at the effort put forth by our Buckeyes. I think by far this was their worst performance of the year. Williams needs to become more of a presence on defense. Sometimes he looked like he had no idea where he was on the court. I thought by far this was his worst game of the season. I also did not like Scott in the first half taking all of those outside jump shots without at least working the ball around for maybe 10 seconds. I would be okay with him taking a quick shot if he was a much better shooter. I thought Q played pretty well but really the only constants on this team are Craft and Smith, Jr. Every game I know what you can get from those two guys. I sure hope we do not play against Notre Dame this way.

By far, our worst performance of the year. The team overall was two steps slow all night; there was no hustle unless Aaron or Amedeo were on the court (and Aaron was out for periods b/c he was in foul trouble). This was easily Shannon Scott's worst performance as a Buckeye, without even factoring in his offensive woes. He consistently got beat by his man and was a liability on D, which is extremely uncharacteristic of Shannon. He also didn't shoot well and made some bad decisions with passes that led to TO's, but those were smaller things in comparison. I'm not sure if he's injured or just wasn't hustling and was tired or had finals on his mind, but he just didn't have it last night. Thank goodness for Ross and Amedeo having solid, if not spectacular, games last night. Love what I saw out of Loving, too. He's going to be a contributor going forward this year.

Hope Thad gets after them in practice, because it's too close to B1G season to be playing like we did against Delaware, and we know we can play SO much better than what we showed last night.

excellent analysis:shake:
Wasn't intended to be analysis. Just reminding everyone that a bad game shouldn't lead to too much pessimism.

I feel a lot better about this team than I did a month ago. Amir Williams, Trey McDonald and Marc Loving are all contributing at a level I wouldn't have expected. Still not convinced they're worthy of a top-five ranking, but then I think about what other teams look like right now and can't figure out many teams I'd rank above them.

Honestly, I have a hard time being upset with the team's performance yesterday. They won by 12 in a game everyone thought they'd win, and there were enough positives from the game. It's not like Delaware is a total pushover. Yeah, OSU can play better than they did vs. Delaware, but that's true of pretty much any game you watch them play. Maybe North Florida is the exception.
