OL Graham Glasgow (Aurora, Ill./Marmion Academy) says he is now talking to #OhioState and could visit next weekend.

#OhioState coach Doc Tressel was at Graham Glasgow's basketball practice today. Things are starting to heat up for the 6-7, 290pound tackle

How's this for irony. Graham Glasgow's OL coach is former #Michigan O-Lineman Kurt Becker who convinced #OhioState to look at Glasgow.

FYI, Glasgow visited Minnesota recently...they and MSU are talking to him about possibly being a preferred walk-on. Maybe that is OSU's thinking as well?

Buckeyes interested in Graham Glasgow
January, 28, 2011
By Chris Pool

As signing day approaches there is one prospect who isn't getting caught up in the sense of urgency that others in his class are feeling right now. Offensive tackle Graham Glasgow (Aurora, Ill./Marmion Academy) isn't your typical recruit. He is a basketball player, turned football player with one year of experience under his belt. Glasgow helped lead his team to a state runner-up finish in 2010 and now football is his sport of choice.

His parents are the team doctors for the Northern Illinois football team and that's why new Minnesota coach Jerry Kill brought him up for an official visit. Now Ohio State has entered the picture.

"Coach (Doc) Tressel came to my basketball practice [Thursday]," said the 6-foot-7, 290-pounder. "I had a great conversation with Coach Tressel and it looks like I'll go there next week for a visit. Right now I think it would be the same situation as Minnesota. I would be a preferred walk-on."

Glasgow's offensive line coach at Marmion is former Chicago Bears lineman Kurt Becker and he says the sky is the limit for Glasgow.

"[Glasgow] has unlimited potential," Becker said. "I played at Michigan and in the NFL. I think I have a good feel of what a Big Ten type offensive tackle should look like. With some development and coaching, Graham could end up being a multi-year starter at the next level."

So with Walker going to USC . Does he get a scholarship offer ?
Highly unlikely. Ohio State would bring him in as a preferred walk-on, and he would have the chance to earn a scholarship down the road (see Andrew Moses and Mike Kne, for example).

I'm not a coach, just a really big Buckeye fan. I'd appreciate reading about your thoughts on this kid. All I see is the obvious: he's big and strong and demolishes little kids. What do you all see? I appreciate the input. :oh:

Great size. Pretty good footwork. Physical. It would be nice to have him join the team. One thing Tress has always done is to provide scholarships for those who work hard and are worthy. It would be a great opportunity for him to come in a compete.

The Gophers are still looking to add more talent and could still sign another player or two. They are also awaiting word on Graham Glasgow, a 6-foot-7, 310-pound left tackle from Aurora (IL) Marmion Academy. Glasgow visited Michigan yesterday and is also considering Minnesota and Ohio State as a preferred walk-on.

Glasgow comes from a football family. His father, Steve, played defensive tackle at Penn and his younger brother, Ryan, is a 6-foot-3, 255 pound junior guard/defensive end.

Marmion Academy head coach Dan Thorpe said that Glasgow will likely make his decision this week.

"He has done a good job with his homework," said Thorpe. "He knows how many offensive linemen Minnesota has returning, how many Michigan has returning and Ohio State. He has put a ton of thought into it and he will make a very mature decision with the data and information. It is not going to be an emotional decision by any means. The family and him want to wrap this up within the week, I'm sure."

Thorpe said that Glasgow has ties with Kill.

"Graham's father and mother (Drs. Steven and Michele Glasgow) are the team doctors for Northern Illinois," said Thorpe. "They know Jerry Kill very well. Jerry Kill makes men. You guys got a great one there. You are not going to have to be patient very long. He'll make a difference already. I saw Jerry's introduction and Jerry Kill is very creative. It doesn't surprise me. I love Jerry Kill and I'd love to have Graham play for Jerry Kill."
