Hell, the dude was 6-8 from beyond the arc and 7-9 overall, which is better than our Big Ten contending Buckeyes shoot from the free throw line. Even if they hadn't guarded him, his performance would not have been pathetic.

I never meant to imply that I thought his play was pathetic. Simply the entire episode if they left him unguarded and nobody in the news mentioned it and acted as if this was a real game.

Even if that were the case (which it sounds like it's not), the line doesn't move, the crowd doesn't disappear, and this kid doesn't stop realizing that these are the only minutes of competitive basketball that he's ever going to play.

Hell, I'll wager $1000 that you can't hit six straight threes in an empty gym. :roll2:

I hope they were guarding him, because otherwise, this story is just pathetic.

The kid was seven for nine!! I know I couldn't hit that percentage even if wide open. Tibs you are just jealous because you couldn't hit the rim much less make the shot.

The scene made ESPN's Top Ten plays of the night and he indeed was guarded. The only thing pathetic here is some folks inability to show some empathy towards the situation and the kid's achievement. :sad2:

What a asshole

What if they passed the ball to him and he was wide-open? Does that mean less?

I have seen a lot of players get the ball passed to them wide open and they take the shot. Thats just good play by the team to have one of their guys open.

Just because he was open on a couple of shots, doesn't mean the other team was doing it on purpose.

Why would I show empathy for him? Maybe he doesn't want to feel handicapped and is annoyed whenever people like you feel sorry for him.

What do you mean. Tibs could be right about the kid not liking that his handicapped got national press.

Is it possible the coach put him in so he could play and that could have been the end of the story? Maybe he was just happy to go out and get to play and didn't want all the national press that has come with this.

I don't think that the last comment tibs made was digging a whole at all, indeed maybe the kin isn't happy with the spotlight.

Dude, just stop...
