You ask, "Why not Stripes"? Uh, you think maybe because it has absolutely nothing to do with any war? Stripes is not a war movie by any stretch of the imagination. Besides, the movie is so fucking stupid it's ridiculous.

Back to the topic at hand:

The Great Escape is one of the best war movies of all-time.

The Cold war is still a war... and my point is that as part of the "greater genre" it would qualify.... so what if the US Army didn't use Winnebago's and MAC 10's .... :wink2: The John Candy wrestling scene is pricless. Also... I'd prefer if everyone stopping reffeing to me as AKAK and started calling me "Psycho." If you call me AKAK, I'll kill you. And if you touch any of my stuff. I'll kill you.

Indeed... The Great Escape is awesome.

Disclaimer: The I'll 'Kill You' parts are obviously paraphraded quotations, and not meant to be taken seriously.

The Cold War is not a war...no shots were exchanged between combatants and no lives were lost on either side as a result of military action on the part of the other. It's simply a glorified press phrase and nothing more.

Ahh the miracle of Cinema.

Also-- You think the N. Koreans were flying their own MIGs? :wink2:

I'm going to have to go with Mili on this one. The "Cold War" was a political state of problems, not a real "war." The smaller conflicts such as Korea are wars, but they are not the "Cold War."

Edit: Back to the Thread...Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down are my favorite.

If you agree with Mili then you can't count Black Hawk Down since it occurred in Somalia and did not occur during any US-Somalian "War."
