    • After seeing the signature of one of our members which lists all our conference championships, I started to wonder which Big Ten team had the best 10-year run in conference titles. Well, according to my research the answer is none other than THE Ohio State University, with nine titles in the 10-year span from 1968 through 1977. The only year in that span in which we didn't win a title (shared or outright), is 1971. Michigan won eight conference titles from 1969-1978, which is the second best 10-year run.

    they will be top 10 based on name recognition alone....and if they have anybody returning i think they move up 1 spot per "star". so hart bumps them to 9, henne to 8,....

    From last year, scUM lost its top 3 defensive players off a defense that already had more questions than answers. Take away Braylon, and I'd rank them a solid #14.

    Several sports writers and pre-season polls even have them in the top 5, based upon the media hump-a-thon with Henne and Hart. They figure that since they were true freshmen last year, they can only get better, and thus Michigan will be even better...this is despite the fact that their defense will even worse than last year's. Michigan gave up 37+ points in three of their last four games.

    Pretty amazing that there is an 8 year overlap for the best runs by both schools. Seems pretty safe to assume that we were sharing (when not winning outright) with scUM.

    See the greatest rivalry thread. :wink: The Woody-Bo wars were just an amazing era of college football and elevated the rivalry to a whole new level.
