Greg Schiano (HC Rutgers Scarlet Knights)

Would love to see coach leave CBus with another skunk bear pelt and Natty then land a good HC gig. All would be in balance in the universe.
I’ll re-use your line “skunk bear pelt” in my discussions about our victories. Will share with my son in attempt to “raise him right”. Full disclosure, I’ve made a lot of mistakes raising my son and will make a ton more, but for a kid born and raised outside of Ohio, he sure does love the Bucks and hates TTUN.

Wow. That’s great. I’ve always wanted to say something cool. There are some posters here that set a high bar though. Hahahahaha.

Looks like Matt Patricia will get the HC gig with the Lions.

The DC job under Belichek is the NFL job that concerned me with regards to Schiano.

They are close, Belichek respects the hell out of Schiano.

I submit a coordinator gig under the GOAT is a gateway to head coaching gig in the NFL or NCAA.

Its pretty simple. If he wants an NCAA he stays ... if he wants NFL he goes... Not many colleges look at NFL coordinators for HC jobs. Yes it does happen but not near as often as college coordinators getting college HC jobs.

he goes the the NFL he wants to be done with recruiting and everything else that college football involves.

It’s not that simple.

Expanding his resume by working under Belichek will add to his breadth of experience and give him more flexibility.

Having worked under Meyer AND Belichek increases his bonafides and doesn’t close the door to the NCAA, it would enhance his options/attractiveness.

I suggest you and I discuss my rare agreement with you at a high-end happy hour, soon.

I don't think Schiano is in a spot where he needs to "increase his bonafides". He'll get a CFB job soon enough. If he wants an NFL job, moving to the Pats makes more sense.
He'd be in Knoxville already if their Uni wasn't a joke... in a way, he dodged a bullet. I don't think he'll have a problem getting his pick next year. At the very least, Ash will eventually be fired from Rutgers and I'm sure they'd take him back in a heartbeat. Not sure it's the same gig it was in the Big Easy though... kind of a career killer these days.
