HB Dontre 'DeSoto' Wilson (Official Thread)

Urban said his foot was a bit sore and they gave him the day off on Sunday. Said he should be good to go for the game. Good news! We will need as much firepower as possible. DeSoto is especially needed in the return game as has impressed with his play at HBack thus far. 3 TDs I believe.

I really want this kid to stay healthy, people forget how much promise he showed his first season and half at OSU. He, IMHO, is really close to turning the corner in a big time play maker for OSU. He's be steady so far, which is something he's lacked his entire time in Columbus. I expect a healthy dose of Wilson and Samuel attacking the edge/counter plays, because of the defense OU runs(3-4 wide I).

Urban Meyer Press Conference...

  • On Dontre Wilson’s turbulent career at Ohio State, Meyer boasts Wilson’s “huge catch” from Saturday. The head coach noted the receiver came in with expectation, but the “poor guy” broke his foot against Michigan State two years ago, and still isn’t 100%. They’ve adjusted his practice schedule and training to account for that lingering injury.

Ugh, damn. That seriously sucks to have to deal with that for 2 years now. Props to him for battling through it. I wonder if that injury is just something he's never going to fully recover from.
