I saw what Garcia did. He had his signature, utterly mediocre game until their final drive when he was able to outmaneuver a couple of defensive linemen and lead his gaggle of talentless ass clowns down the field. Believe it or not - no matter - I was thoroughly convinced he was going to throw the game away. The holding/pass interference was borderline borderline at best (yes, borderline borderline), and the more I look at Reed's pick, the more I think he did keep it off the grass. Bottom line is that Garcia is my least favorite NFLer since Kurt Warner. I hope the Browns are pleased with him as their "leader" until he's 53 or however old he'll be at the end of his ridiculous contract.

I'm quite sure someone will want to know why I have it out for Garcia, so I'll just say it now. It basically comes down to the media shoving their collective tongue up an average player's ass because they think he's "tough" and "has a lot of heart." Sorry - it just doesn't work for me. I didn't like Lucas, I didn't like Rudy, and I don't like Jeff Garcia. Go back to the CFL, you squeaky voiced poo stabber.

If I want tough, I'll watch Favre and McNair.
Farve has always been tough everybody knows that, its just his accuracy thats not as tough as it used to be. Look did you watch that game last night or were you hating so much that you couldn't watch. Im a freaking Steelers fan and even I know that the play your refering to was a penalty. And to question Garcia"s toughness? dont be a fool guy. This guy is tough as they come. His O-line is weak, but I think your just trying to spark some emotion hear right? because your never that far off from the truth.

Heh. True enough, I do like to ruffle feathers. I honesty don't like or respect Jeff Garcia's game, so getting to shit on him and rile up some Browns fans in one clean motion is, well...fun. As for never being far from the truth, you're right again. I see the same things everyone else does, including the members of the media who jump all over guys who are "good stories." The difference is that I'm not interested in good stories. I'm interested in good players. There was a guy who played for the Saints recently (maybe still does?) who just a few years earlier had been driving a beer truck for a living. Whoopie. I mean, congratulations on making it, but if you're on the field, I want to see you play. No interest whatsoever in your past/background, good or bad. Donald Driver (WR, GB) used to steal cars. Doesn't help or hurt his reputation as a player in my opinion. That's all sort of off-topic, but the bottom line is that I don't give a damn how big or small a player is, or how ugly his wife is, or how much he believes in Jesus, or how much charity work he does, or who he dates, or how many people he has allegedly killed. The media, unfortunately, doesn't share the sentiment. Thus the constant barrage of, "Wow, Jeff Garcia is so tough! He's only 5'11", and he throws his little girl body around like he's still playing for a roster spot in the CFL!"

*yawn*

He just doesn't impress me in the slightest.

What you dont realize is that Garcia and Farve are very close in size both about 5'11"....and both have big hearts. Although your boy Farve's heart isnt what it used to be, and in fact his game isnt either. Results are what counts and Garcia is winning more than any previous Browns QB has. Farve on the other hand is losing more than he ever did in his carrer. Last of all I believe effort matters... do you? I see a lot of effort with Garcia and a less than all-star team around him. "Ahhh, the days of good Green bay teams are far behind you my friend." .....
"yawn"
Keep on hating..... it is always amusing and sometimes its even interesting.

Jeff Garcia is about 6' in cleats, and just shy of 200 pounds.

Brett Favre is an easy 6'2" and about 225 pounds.

None of that really matters to me, because comparing the two quarterbacks on any level is just obscene.

As far as their respective 'games', here were their numbers going into today (before Jeffy's, uh...'performance' vs. the Steelers):

Favre - 173/269 (64.3%), 2007 yards, 7.46 ypa, 14 TDs 9 INTs
QB Rating: 90.2
6 carries for 12 yards, 0 TDs

Garcia - 126/218 (57.8%), 1528 yards, 7.01 ypa, 9 TDs 8 INTs
QB Rating: 77.9
31 carries for 139 yards, 2 TDs

The Packers are 4-4 and in a position to force a tie for the lead in the NFC North with a win today over the Randy Moss-less Vikings in Lambeau.

The Browns are 3-5 and still down two TDs to the Steelers, despite the heroics of Kelly Holcomb. Garcia's stats? 7/16 (43.8%), 110 yards, 6.88 ypa, 0 TDs 1 INT.

Numbers don't lie, tiger.

And by the way, I'm pretty sure Favre's streak of consecutive starts is going to get one game longer in about fifteen minutes despite a sprained wrist and thumb on his throwing arm. Sorry, guy. I understand your desire to defend Garcia, but don't pretend he's got anything on a three-time MVP, Super Bowl champion, future Hall of Famer, multiple record holding legend. Frankly, all the praise Favre gets bugs the shit out of me, but there simply is no basis for comparison.

Give Garcia a break. How could he possibly have his head in the game when there was a guy they call "Big" Ben within 50-60 yds of him all day? I'm suprised he remembered his name with that kind of distraction.

When I heard there was a pre game altercation I thought for sure poor Rothlesberger had been ass raped.
