Please bring back the 1-50 rankings!!!

I think they basically have to do this. How can they bring back Halo 2 and 3, call it the original engine, and not have some type of publically visable 1-50 rank, (or something). Or at least update it and take the average between the ranking systems between 2 and 3. -Because the two different games did have different ranking syatems, they both had 1-50 to reflected your skill, but how they went about generating that number was different. I think they could do this by possibly using a 1-100 system to creat a greater reflection of true skill. Why? I have had many, many, many, many 50s. THe real skill starts at 50. I have played so many different 50s and their skill levels are all over the place. The phrase "I'm a 50." is cool but I would like to see this come back and maybe improve on it. Halo 2 was the best at skill evaluation and Reaches system sucked but did a great kob at showing what 'you' actually contributed to the team. See the video in the next post for info on how the match-making will work.

yea, I mean I didn't mind H3's system either, but I felt it was too hard to rank up, because it seemed more on wins and losses than anything else.

I'm pretty sure I got to high 30s or 40 in H2, but could only get to about 32 in H3 because I got stuck with shit teams a lot

Hopefully they get back to 1-50 for H5 too. This new xp system doesn't have much to do with skill, but how much you play
Remember that XP and Skill have nearly zero correlation. While it is true that the average person gains skill and technique the they continue to play, it is also true that many Plateau out at some time or other.

Halo 4 used a 1-130 number to reflect the progression of your Spartan. This had nothing to do with your "true skill" which was never publically displayed on your Spartan. The CSR, which actually did measure your skill -as BuckNut pointed out, was later released but required you to visit Halo Waypoint or a dedicated site such as quickcsr.com to calculate your 1-50 rank. This entire idea sucked. And I believe hurt the number of players playing.

To sum up: you could easily find a XP player of 130 who has played for 1,000+ hours. But that same player may only be a true skill rank of 5, 10, or even less.
