The Buckeyes have added another potential defensive tackle to next year’s recruiting class.

Blessed and Happy to announce that I've verbally committed to Ohio State University⚪

Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nevada) product Haskell Garrett made his commitment to Ohio State on Tuesday afternoon. At 6’2″ and 270 pounds, Garrett is considered a top 20 recruit in the class and the top defensive tackle out west.

Scout has him ranked as the second best defensive tackle in the class. Scout’s Greg Biggins had some very positive things to say about Garrett this afternoon.

Garrett also told Biggins that Ohio State is his “dream school”.

“It wasn’t an easy choice but it was the best choice for me,” Garrett said. “Ohio State is the dream school for me and I’ve always wanted to go there. I haven’t visited before but I’m going to check out the campus next month and can’t wait to get out there.
“I had a top three of Ohio State, Notre Dame and Penn State and I still want to check out and visit those schools as well. Ohio State is the school for me though and I’m very excited to be a Buckeye.”

The big-time defensive tackle has yet to take an official visit to Ohio State, but plans to do so in the future.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Haskell Garrett has more than 15 scholarship offers on the table. He missed four games during his junior season with a shoulder injury, but still led his team with six sacks on the year.

He also finished with 53 tackles.

Welcome to the Ohio State family Haskell Garrett, we look forward to seeing you grow this off-season and during your senior campaign. And Ohio State fans can’t wait to see what kind of havoc you create on the field.
