Hate more: ND or UM? (split from ND thread)

This has been more of a lucky/magical season for ND than a "return to glory." I expect them to lose at least 3-4 games next season as they should be replacing a number of guys on the offensive line, backfield, and defense unless there are a large number of 5th year returns. I expect Oklahoma to win, Stanford, and another loss or two between USC, Michigan, and Michigan State. This was also one of those fluke years where many great teams were either rebuilding or on sanctions, both of which should be rectified next year.

USC loses Barkley and the recruiting cuts will hurt, Michigan State doesn't have a QB and suffers huge losses on the defensive side of the ball, Oklahoma will beat up on Texas - but let's face it the Big 8/10/12/10 ain't what it used to be- You have to get by Navy in America, Pitt without a conference- I'd say your season comes down to Michigan -

Same to you. Whats the consensus among Michigan faithful regarding the South Carolina game? They're a different team without Lattimore, but that defense still looks to be good.

Hey, you fucking nancies want to take your two-man circle jerk elsewhere? This thread is devoted to hating on the both of you, ya good-for-nothing cocksuckers! :pissed:

Their defensive line is going to be hell trying to stop. But from what little I've seen, their offensive line is not that good either. If UM can get to Shaw and hold them to 14-17 points, I like their chances.

That's the general consensus.

Wonder if age has something to do with the degree of dislike aimed at ND. As some one who grew up in 50s, college in the early 60s, my anger at the overblown attention paid to ND by the East Coast and Chicago media, the last thing I want to see is for the Irish to be relevant again.

You had to be around to see Paul Horning win the Heisman to fully appreciate how bad it was.

It could also be regional.

I had to grow up listening to a group of people fawn over a pedophile enabler and listen to how they thought they were better than everyone else every single day for years.

Fuck Ped State.

I think you're both right. I grew up in the shadows of Pittsburgh, surrounded by Catholics. That inevitably led to a hatred of both Notre Dame and Penn State due to constant overexposure to their fans and the BS. The worst part? I was actually in Ohio, but East Liverpool is far more influenced by Pittsburgh than by any city in Ohio. Most of the residents are Pittsburgh fans in all pro sports.

My hatred of scUM comes solely from being a tOSU alum and a lifelong Buckeye fan. I don't encounter Michigan fans on a daily basis, I'm not bombarded by pro-Michigan media. PoSU and ND, on the other hand...

So it's a different kind of hate, but hate nonetheless. But to say hatred for one supersedes the other would be a lie. I root against ND at all times. We rarely play them, so we can beat them by extension if they lose to TSUN then we take care of business in November.

To this day, I still get shit from Steelers fans about not supporting the "local" team. Many of them are Notre Dame fans, which apparently is located in extreme western Pennsylvania.

I hate both of those fucking teams more than words can say.
