According to a Columbus Division of Police report, the burglary occurred sometime between Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. and Nov. 23 at 8 p.m.
Hawk, Mangold, and a third roommate, Jonathan Thomas, told police that their apartment in the 100 block of West Norwich Avenue was broken into and about $3,000 in cash, $1,425 in movies, two laptop computers, a $500 Gucci watch, two Microsoft X-Box games valued at $500, a Sony Playstation game valued at $250 were taken.
Police were not told about the crime until Nov. 28, according to their report.

how many college students with no money have Gucci watches?

Uh, fuckwad, both come from pretty well-to-do families. And seeing as they're both seniors, a little thing called savings may pop to mind. :roll1:

That being said, I initially heard that they personally were robbed (as at gun/knife point) of $3,000. You want to talk about ESPN fodder, asking how OSU players have $3,000 cash on their person.

I first heard about this on another site, and the more I hear about it, the more I think it's not as bad as it seems on first impression. Reading the police report makes it seem all within reason. The only flag to me was 1) the cash, but that was spread between three guys, and 2) the Gucci watch, which could have been a gift from a girlfriend or something.

I have faith in these two.

I know the players got nice watches from the Fiesta Bowl a couple years ago. I don't remember what the brand name was. I'm pretty sure both of those guys would have been able to take out a loan based on future NFL money if they wanted to.

apparently their "well to do families" didn't teach them about banks. :roll1:Pretty stupid to have 3000 dollars in cash in a campus apartment. Just asking for trouble.

An average DVD is $25.00. That is only 57 movies divided by 3 people. I don't find it unusual for a college kid to own 19 movies. I had a lot more than that when I was in school.
My college roommate probably had 60 movies on his own.....and his family wasn't "well off". Some people just dig movies.

Even 19-20 movies would have been a lot for me back in college. I can't imagine my apartment having that much in movies, 3 game systems, and a watch (not a Gucci watch...just a watch), and I had 3 roommates. Eh, maybe we were much poorer and studied a lot more than I realized.

Also, where the hell are you buying DVD's for $25? Even porn shouldn't cost that much if you actually look around. Wherever it is, you're getting ripped off big time. I suggest shopping around more...
