On Tuesday, Chip Kelly was still Oregon?s head coach, and he traveled to DeSoto to see four-star recruit Dontre Wilson. During the visit, he told Wilson and his father, Don, about how Oregon had already worked DeSoto's star running back into next year?s offense.

On Wednesday, everything changed.

After initially declining overtures to the NFL, Kelly was hired by Philadelphia Eagles, leaving the Ducks? recruits, including Wilson, in a lurch.

"He's not a happy camper right now," DeSoto coach Claude Mathis said. "I think Dontre's hurt a little bit, because since [Kelly] was here yesterday. Dontre thinks he should have said something."

Talked to Dontre Wilson's coach tonight. Wilson will sit down with family and is waiting to talk to Oregon staff before any decision is made

Landing Dontre Wilson would give us two "Percy Harvin" type of guys, which takes some burn away from not landing Diggs last year. He and Jalin Marshall look like really really good players.

There aren't two "Percy Harvin" type guys on this planet. There was one and he's out of eligibility.

I get that this dude is a freak talent, but I think it's unfair and inaccurate to compare anyone to Harvin. His skillset was so unique and he dominated so soon after stepping on the field at Florida that attempting to label anyone as "the next Percy Harvin" is just something that should be avoided IMO.

General point noted though...reel him in.

I think you're missing what he's saying. I agree, there is only one Percy Harvin, but there are plenty of Percy Harvin "type of guys."

It is the "Percy Harvin" position/skillset that Wilson & Marshall & numerous others could be used for and what skillsets they possess that are being compared. We all also agree with you that Percy Harvin is an exceptional player and the "next" label will never happen. :osu:

I get what youre saying and feel the same. But when you lead a very successful team and do so with a player that doesn't have a pro nounced position, there really can't be many other comparisons. We can also pretty much say the same skill set was used with tavon Austin, stedman bailey, reggie bush, but the list is pretty short of players who were truly dual threat. Maybe deanthony thomas now. And if Wilson can be almost as good as any of those names, we're in for some special teams. This offense is starting to become a highly talented offensive team if all works out how it looks on paper. And can imagine if big names fall into place in 2014! Get wilson committed and then find a position for him
