HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

Thats why IMO Day going and getting an elite defensive coordinator like a Dom Brown/Bud Foster would be huge. Bring in someone who has his shit together on defense and who can dominate.

If he does that I'm confident we will be the best in the big ten for a long time

Which is what Urban brought Grinch in to be last year (winning the battle with Saban for Grinch's services).

Saban and Meyer think highly of Grinch.

I think we can give him the benefit of the doubt until he gets a full season to be in charge.

Agree. Want to see him in control of the D first before worrying about someone else. I'm assuming Schiano will be stepping out. As much as I think he could help with a first year HC, its better to start fresh next season.

Cautiously optimistic.
Think some things may improve but worried about his bonafides* to attract/retain great assistants, recruiting (nobody recruited like Urban), and rivalry focus.

Hmm. He's with Stud. Indication that Stud is staying? It would be kinda weird for assistants who aren't staying on to be out recruiting wouldn't it?

If Stud is the primary recruiter, I could see him being there. But he does have a lot of interactions with Stud, being they are on the O side. That being said, no major changes will probably happen until after signing day.

I thought I'd organize a little concert in honor of our new head coach:

You forgot one... Before they were famous, when Gwen Stefani was just Eric Stefani's little sister. Yeah, if you were on a college campus in the early 90s, you know that this album was the catalyst for Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger, Mighty Mighty Boss Tones, and every other one hit wonder ska band of the mid/late 90s:

I don't think we have to worry about a significant drop in recuiting talent unless we start taking L's next year and whispers about the program being decline start to take place. I don't foresee that so I'm not concerned right now.

For a player with their sights set on the NFL this program has proven to be solid route to get there and this is just a transition, not a shakeup. Bosa is likely going #1 overall and Haskins likely #1 QB overall in the top 5 overall (definitely in top 10). That is a big advertisement for OSU beyond the usual amount of drafted players. Day is carrying on Urban's system of success, it's not being uprooted in an era of failure by an outside HC. All systems go!
