HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

More I think of it... Boy Ryan didn't take over with the best conditions when it comes to staff.

Two UFM close friends in Davis/Schiano, Grinch appears to have been disgruntled, and Taver can't even recruit 1 DB.

It's a mess on defense.

Land a solid LB coach, retain LJ SR and maybe keep Schiano another year for some sort of coaching stability and find a decent DB coach and I’ll call it a win. I think Ash May be let go next year and if we can reel him back temporarily next year if Greg leaves I think it should work out fine.

I agree with all of it besides one thing... go get the best DB coach out there. We have freed up 4 mill by losing UFM/Grinch so go give someone stupid money to land the best.

One of my only complaints with Urban was how every year he said freshman were going to play and then every year they did not play. Alabama has found a way to make contributors of more true freshmen it seems than we have. (Or maybe I am just remembering the ones that did.)

Anywho, I am hoping Day can find a way to to get more contributions from true freshman than Urban did. Especially now with the new redshirt rules.

How many of those freshmen do you honestly think were ready that didn't play? Very few, imo. Vonn Bell maybe, just because safety play was so bad after Christian Bryant went down.

So I've said a few times in a few places that Les Miles and LSU's success is (in my mind) about 95% attributed to Nick Saban and what he built for him.

If there's anybody in the world that is comparable to Nick Saban, it's Urban Meyer. I don't believe Ryan Day is as donkey brained as Les Miles.

Conclusion: I'm pretty positive about the future of Ohio State football.

I believe that Bama has found a little more garbage time minutes for just as many frosh as we have. But if there is an argument to made for why they may be playing more frosh, look at their schedule. I'm sure if we played an OOC schedule with the likes of Citadel, Colorado St, Mercer, Western KY, Arkasas St., Chattanooga; and then threw into overrated teams with name recognition like USC, Free shoes U, Louisville(post Lamar), West VA, etc we'd see a heck of a lot more frosh seeing PT. Not to mention playing in a league that is very top heavy(and they're at the tippy tippy top), and the bottom is downright laughable, they can pummel them with frosh alone.
