Headlines You Don't See Every Day (outside of Florida)

Summer of 2002, this outta be good.

PS; I also ended up in the hospital about 5 years ago after fighting a dog that went after my wife and daughter... still whooped its ass :p

Yeah, a good one, for sure. A little before you were there so you may know the story.

So, I’m sure you’re aware of the School of the America’s? Suffice it to say, my Aunt leans a little left in her politics. Ordained Methodist minister too. Anyhow, she and some dude decide to organize protests at Ft Benning to raise awareness (if that’s even what the called it back then) about SoA. Apparently they decided it was a smart thing to walk on to the property with their group. Long story short, they were arrested and the kind Magistrate instructed them not to be seen in his court room again. FF one year. Wash, rinse, repeat. Same Magistrate says, ‘How do you plea?’

‘No contest, your honor...’

‘Now Reverend, about a year ago, I believe we met over this matter and we had an agreement that I’d not see you in my court room again? I sentence you to six months...’

I don’t recall where she served, but it was a federal prison. I guess I’m supposed to feel bad for her, being my aunt and all, but I really don’t. It’s not like she didn’t have fair warning. The cause and the merits of their actions, I guess can be debated... but I do know this. A judge need not tell me to not tresspass on an Army base a first time... let alone a second time.

And if you’re wondering, no, I cannot remember the last time I spoke with her. Probably at my grandmother’s funeral like 10 years ago or so. I try to distance myself from crazy.

Yea, military base isnt the place to tolerate protests. Ive got my fair share of crazy I understand. Someday I'll tell you all the tale of my schizophrenic aunt that repeatedly accused a young boy of tunneling into her basement among other things.

What is it about schizophrenics and basement delusions? Had a neighbor who was schiz. She had an episode at one point where she was next door screaming about me skulking in her basement. "I've got a knife for you, bitch!" Couldn't get the cops or medical types to take it very seriously, even tho' she was screaming loudly enough for me to record it through the walls. Moved not long after.

Probably persisting fears from childhood. I've met a couple schizophrenics who refuse to go into attics for the same reason. Also met a girl who won't go anywhere near a shed after her older brother played her Stairway to Heaven backwards when she was eight.

What are these people doing? Just pump some quarters in and use the claw to pull the kid out!

I remember the first time my parents left me to die in a claw machine. I was 8 years old and not only found a way to get out, had the wherewithal to track them down a mere two weeks later.

Child abandonment laws are ruining this country
