I thought we should start this, given that there will likely be a lot of Heat-related discussion this season.

I've changed my tune on the Heat. Wade probably only has a few years left before his body starts to break down and he won't be able to drive to the hoop. There is going to be a new CBA next year that will likely have a hard cap and no MLE so they Heat won't be able to add the 1 Mike Miller type player every year that they could now. They traded all their draft picks to the Cavs and Raptors so they won't have any good young players coming in and it isn't like they've done a good job in the draft since Wade anyway. Lebron and Bosh will likely be in their prime for most of the 7 year contract, but if they can't add young role players around them and Wade loses it they might only get 2-3 years to win what they can. If things don't go great I could see Lebron and Bosh opting out after a few years and looking for greener pastures.

2-1 so far. bron hasnt played his best but still had a big win over a great orlando team. they just need time to gel.

wade is still a beast as long as he can stay healthy

I don't know if I'd call Orlando great or any near approximation thereof....

Cryami is a 3 man team. I don't know if they can win the title with LeQuit, Wade and Bosh playing 35+ minutes a night with as little help as they are going to get.

You have to consider they are playing without their 4th best player still too. Mike Miller

IF their hopes are hinging on Mike Miller they are even more screwed than I already think they are....

The thing that is getting over looked is this team's Defense.

Really good, fun read by Bill Simmons about the new Heat and what's wrong with them. I think he's spot-on here with his observations.

Saw an interview with LBJ on ESPN news this evening where he said "everyone is trying to dethrone us..."

WHAT THE FUCK HAS THIS TEAM DONE TO WARRANT A THRONE OF ANY KIND?

Only fucking team sitting on a throne resides in L.A. and has a rapist as their #1

Judging from his posts in this thread and in the LBJ thread, he became an LBJ/Heat fan right at about the time LBJ screwed over the Ohio team. And he decided to troll right around that time...
