Miami Heat (3x NBA Champions)

Wade strains right hamstring, will be re-evaluated next week

MIAMI (AP) -- Dwyane Wade's preseason debut ended quickly with an injured right hamstring, and it could be a couple weeks before he's back running with the Miami Heat.

Wade left Miami's exhibition opener against the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night just 3 minutes, 17 seconds into the contest, headed to the locker room and did not return. He watched the game while getting treatment, as new teammates LeBron James and Chris Bosh carried the Heat to a 105-89 victory.

"I just felt it pull," Wade said. "I knew automatically it was a pulled hamstring. It was a little sore coming into the game the last couple days of practice and stuff, so I tried to do everything to make it go away. But it happens."

I've changed my tune on the Heat. Wade probably only has a few years left before his body starts to break down and he won't be able to drive to the hoop. There is going to be a new CBA next year that will likely have a hard cap and no MLE so they Heat won't be able to add the 1 Mike Miller type player every year that they could now. They traded all their draft picks to the Cavs and Raptors so they won't have any good young players coming in and it isn't like they've done a good job in the draft since Wade anyway. Lebron and Bosh will likely be in their prime for most of the 7 year contract, but if they can't add young role players around them and Wade loses it they might only get 2-3 years to win what they can. If things don't go great I could see Lebron and Bosh opting out after a few years and looking for greener pastures.

2-1 so far. bron hasnt played his best but still had a big win over a great orlando team. they just need time to gel.

wade is still a beast as long as he can stay healthy

I don't know if I'd call Orlando great or any near approximation thereof....

Cryami is a 3 man team. I don't know if they can win the title with LeQuit, Wade and Bosh playing 35+ minutes a night with as little help as they are going to get.
