Help, I'm a buckeye fan in KY and I need your answers to these questions...

Hi guys...
Okay, I'm a 29 year old teacher and basketball coach (and men's league player) here in Kentucky and I love my wildcats in both football and basketball, as well as Notre Dame. But lately I have really started to like OSU in hoops and football and I feel kinda guilty for that, but I mean why cant a guy follow 3 teams..right? Also...here's my question before I officially like OSU. Be honest, please...
1. Are the people/players at OSU good guys?
2. Are the people at OSU arrogant, or just good decent people.
3. Is there a spirit of community at OSU?
4. Do you guys look "down" or Kentuckians or see them as good people from across the river?
5. It's almost as if a lot of Ohio teams are "part of KY" as well as Ohio, such as the Bengals, Reds, etc...and the Buckeyes?
6. Is this a Hoops program and football program that a guy can really admire and support and be part of?
Please be honest and post your responses here.
Thanks,
bwsimpson

Go see a game in the Shoe this year.

While I can't be sure that this isn't a setup-I'll go for it anyway.

1. Are the people/players at OSU good guys?

There are over a hundered guys on the football team.. So I'd say 98% yes. They're good Guys... You'll Likem... They're goodfellas.

2. Are the people at OSU arrogant, or just good decent people.

Yes

3. Is there a spirit of community at OSU?

This is a fan community right here.

4. Do you guys look "down" or Kentuckians or see them as good people from across the river?

If you were from West Virginia... well.. then you wouldn't like the answer. :wink2:

5. It's almost as if a lot of Ohio teams are "part of KY" as well as Ohio, such as the Bengals, Reds, etc...and the Buckeyes?

If you'd like, you may have Cincinnati. If there are any Michigan People about, you may have Toledo. Seriously... If you live in Covington or something, I'd say why not... I don't know how good the 'Frankfort Frankfurters' are at anything...

6. Is this a Hoops program and football program that a guy can really admire and support and be part of?

As far as Admiring and Supporting. Sure. As for "being a part of them" We have a thread on NCAA eligibility around here somewhere...

Please be honest and post your responses here.

Hey- If You can be on board with Wildcat Basketball Fans and Notre Dumb Football Fans... You're not going to have any problems with us.

This sounds an awfully lot like ex-wolverine's first post. Dude, honestly, no offense intended, but if you like the Bucks, then cheer for them. If not, that's cool, too. You really shouldn't have to ask us what we think in order for you to form your own opinion. Anyways, if you do decide to root for tOSU, welcome to the family - as long as you know you cannot root for us AND the Domers. It's actually physically impossible.

Off topic, but when I was at OU,a group of us went to an OU-UK game at Rupp Arena. The atmosphere was amazing. All of the fans were friendly, and really knew basketball.

Our Cats gave theirs a pretty good run (tied up with 2:00 remaining), but ended up falling short. The class their fans showed during and after the game will always remain a positive memory despite that. :)

When I was at tOSU, my tickets were in the student section at St. John, so I never saw any opposing fans to know how we treated them. :tongue2: I remember for a fact that we definitely harrassed Michigan. :scum4:

Welcome to the board - as you can see from my signature, I'm kinda in the same boat as you are (except for that Notre Lame crap, I don't wanna know where you got that:biggrin: ).

Here's all you need to know: Jim Tressel is the Tubby Smith of football (or I guess you could say that Tubby Smith is the Jim Tressel of basketball.) Their style, class, and level of achievement both on and off the field/court is very similar, and very distinguished. I think the fans of both programs are very similar too, and that's a huge reason why I've always been proud to be a fan of both programs. UK fans live and die for their basketball team, and Buckeye fans are the same way when it comes to football.

Anyway, welcome to the board. This is a great place.
