Here's hoping Eli Manning is a huge bust (SB XLII MVP)...

Here's hoping Eli Manning is a huge bust...

first of all I couldn't stand the guy mainly because of all the unwarranted attention he was getting. He was nowhere near a great college QB but people salivate over him b/c of his last name. Really, if his name was Eli Jones, would he even be a first round pick?
Of course, it looks like he now has Daddy running the shots. what a pathetic loser.

Who the hell does Archie Manning think he is? What a jackass. He should just shut the hell up and be happy that his kid has the talent to even be considered for the NFL. If I were the GM of the Chargers, I'd tell him to go to hell and then I'd draft his kid just to piss him off.

I hope they do pick him.

I can't say that I really blame him though.

He doesn't want his son to go through the same bullshit he did when he was in NO.

Now once Eli's drafted, Archie's pleas mean dick.

Hell, I think both Roethlisberger and Rivers will end up better than Eli at the next level. He has so much pressure on him to live up to the family name except that he is not as good as the other two were. And if you want to stretch it even further, J.P. Losman could be a better pro prospect as well. I am not going out of my way to dis Manning, but I think he is overrated.

If the Mannings truly cared about Eli being a champion, why the hell did he go to Ole Miss? (I know that he went to his daddy's alma mater.) This isn't about going to a winner. This is about exposure, money, and endorsements. I hope the insolent little bastard gets traded to the Browns.

Tibor's first post in this thread shows his true ignorance.
Tibor is a know nothing that adds no value to this board.
Tibor, haveYou ever seen Eli play? What game?
I have the college game day package and have seen him play several times.
You can rest assured that his name has nothing to do with the attention he's getting.
Coming out of college, he is more polished, more athletic and has a more accurate arm than his brother had.
You really need to know what you are talking about before you post so you don't constantly look so foolish.

First off San Diego leaked this information to the press from what was a closed door meeting. I saw nothing wrong with what Eli did. He let San Diego know before the draft that he wished that they did not pick him. The NFL lets the team that has the first pick in the draft to negotiate a contract before the draft so that they can get a player they can sign. If he was not traded and did not sign with the Chargers it would of been there fault for picking him. Plus if San Diego had Rivers rated higher why didn't they just pick him and all of this could of been avoided.

No he doesn't.

San Diago cleaned the Giants clock on this one. Great move, Chargers!
