OL Enokk Vimahi (Official Thread)

You don’t visit Columbus, Ohio (from Hawaii!!) in the middle of January, unless you’re 100% serious about the program. Relatedly, from my understanding, Stud is being evaluated wrt/ his recruiting chops this year. Do a little math and the two add up.

Stud is halfway out the door- Day is taking trips all over the country to visit OLine recruits solo right now.

A tangent for this thread, but I think the only reason he is still around is that it took so much time and energy to completely revamp the defensive staff that they didn’t have a chance to put in the work that was needed to line up a replacement at OL... plus it seemed a lot of the top candidates were NFL guys who were still coaching in the playoffs so the timing didn’t work well.

I think Day spends this entire year lining up a replacement, Stud spends the entire year lining up a new gig, and Wilson spends a LOT of time with the OL (similar to what was reported out of bowl practices).

Hopefully Wilson can prevent a repeat of Grinch and the safeties last year with a checked out position coach.

Keep in mind that he originally planned to announce his commitment at the Polynesian Bowl (a pretty big deal for him), but then cancelled that so that he could delay his announcement to Signing Day (after his visit here). He made arrangements for this visit fairly quickly after getting the offer. I think our chances are more than just pretty good here...

Kind of a bummer, but t it appears that the plan right now is for him to do a 2 year mission after his freshman year. So he wouldn't even be able to play (assuming a redshirt) until 2022. And more likely 2023 since you need to be reaclimated. If he does do the mission, I don't see him ever playing at OSU. This isn't BYU where a lot of players do this, and it's not as high level football. Can't see him do that and ever play at OSU.
