High School footballer, looking for a school

All jokes aside, if he's 6'3 and 16 years old - he's probably got more growing to do and might be a TE by the time he leaves HS.

I wasn't sure if it belonged there and didn't want to risk breaking specific recruiting forum rules. I try to stay out of there so I don't make stupid mistakes. Can an admin do this for me perhaps? All comments would be appreciated and any further chance to get more comments would be great. I pass them along.

He's already contacted OSU. Got the usual package of information. I know he can't be scouted until the end of his junior year (well, I've been told that) but does OSU even do that?
Scouting at high schools I mean. I wouldn't think so because, hey, it's the Buckeyes, they don't really need to go LOOKING for people for their sports program but again, I honestly don't really know that much about the process.

tOSU will start getting tape as early as an athlete's freshman year. I have an athlete for our team who is a rising junior that has been visited at school by Coach Haynes, but the school is also located in Columbus (considering cost and travel time).

Your friend of a friend should start getting his tape out to more local schools and attend a few quality combines. If his name starts to get out, that is when schools like tOSU will take interest. Because of the distance, it is very unlikely for tOSU to travel all that way just to scout/visit (unless he is a 4 star or 5 star). There is only so much money and coach's time a program can use to travel to Washington just to "check out" an athlete.

Has he sent a DVD to the school yet? They get thousands of DVDs a week, do you know anyone within the program?

I believe my friend is spreading the kid's dvd around along with his packet of information as each school is contacted and returns interest. He does a lot of digging on school sites to try to find someone to send an introductory letter to that is not simply the "new student" department if he can.

I do not know anyone, myself, within the program, no. It is my husband's family that has the alumni history and it is the grandparent generation.
