If you don't want to go that direction, if there is an outlet, or lightswitch on that wall it should be attached to a stud on one side. Measure from there.

I'm disappointed in this board...7 posts not including Thump's...and not one mention of Thump wanting to find and drill some studs.

This place is getting slow.

In my defense, you need to consider all the lesbians who come to Georgia and get bummed when they learn that Carpets of Dalton is not a nightclub, thus it's kinda passe for me.

One more thing you might want to look for is an outlet on the wall. Take the face plate off and look where it attaches to the stud. You have a point of reference to measure from and less likely to have an error.

What does PWNED mean?
pwned--
A corruption of the word "Owned." This originated in an online game called Warcraft, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned."

Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned."

It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force.
"Man, I rock at my job, but I still got a bad evaluation. I was pwned."
