Head Coach
How bout them Cavs coming back from 19 down in the 3rd quarter and coming back to win in OT. Big Z with some big shots and LBJ really took over. I believe this may have been the coming out party for Lebron and the cavs.

Go Cavs.

Lebron had 17 points in the 4th, I think Phoenix had 14 as a team. I dont think Lebron really knows how good he can be. He flat out can take over any game if he wants to. Lebron isnt selfish though, and I like that alot about him. Gooden had a real nice game also, scoring 16 and pulling down 21 boards. It was nice to see him active on the glass, especially in the 1st quarter. Its going to take a little while for this team to gel, but there going to be a force to be reckoned with by the middle of the season.

I hate the NBA, but LeBron carries himself well, is fun to watch, and the Cavs are a team that is enjoyable to see play as a team. Actually, Phoenix is too...Stoudamire fouling out hurt them, but it was a great comeback.

Back on track after throttling Denver. I made a bet last year that they'd make the playoffs, and took it to double or nothing that they'd win 50 games this year. Ten wins through sixteen games puts them on pace for a 51-31 season.

Knock on wood.

Nice game by Varejao: 6pts 6 boards in 10 min.
Big 3 by Harris. Some o-rebounds by Traylor. Everyone seems to be
contributing (except Snow) at one time or another.

Interestingly, after 18 games:
Gooden Boozer

Reb 10.2 9.5
pts 12.6 19.0
shots 169 261
fg% 49.1 52.9
ft% 82 79.8
ass. 27 49
stls 19 12
blks 21 6
to's 30 37

Pretty favorable comparison for Gooden considering we need him more for
his derense than his offense. He's 6th in the NBA in defensive rebounds per game. For his salary, he's more than making up for Boozers departure.Props to Paxson for getting Varejao as a throw in in the Gooden trade.

I like Gooden much more than Boozer right now. Throw in Traylor as the backup PF and the Cavs have better depth. Varejao is instant energy out there. He's fun to watch. I can't wait for Jackson to see more time as well.

I was, at the start of the season, not at all pleased with the change from Boozer to Gooden, and had little to no confidence that Drew could be anything but a stopgap while we searched for a new PF. While I still don't really like his overall image (he just looks soft, to me...and number 90? Eughh...), I couldn't be more happy with his play. This team should win 50 games, no problem. With the state of the Pacers, I should think that the Cavs will be battling the Heat, the Pistons and the Magic for the top four playoff seeds.

I don't like to think too far ahead, because I realize that the Cavs are having a fantastic season. Still, the reports of Michael Redd's interest in coming back to Ohio next year have to be as exciting to the rest of you as they are to me. Could you think of a better fit for this team than to have a pure shooter that Lebron can hit when he is doubled, or a guy to take pressure of Z in the post?

PG: McInnis
SG: Redd
SF: James
PF: Gooden
C: Ilgauskas

Wagner, Newble, Diop, Trayler, Jackson, Harris off the bench.

Wow...this franchise is WAY ahead of schedule. Even after the Boozer fiasco.

If that's the case, then Wagner will most certainly be gone.

There are alot of their players that are due new contracts in the next 2 years. Z, reportedly, will take a discount to stay. I hope that alot of the players will see what LJ can do for their games, and decide to stay.

I think Z, Wagner, Gooden, Jeff Mac and Diop are all fa's in the next year or 2. While Diop couldn't score with Ann Arbor, he does play very good defense and is a great shot blocker, so . if cheap, I'd like to keep him.

Redd would certainly look good in the wine and gold.

Don't forget Pavlovic. They traded for him and drafted Jackson to be the shooters. Didn't Larry Bird really want Jackson in Indy? I'm expecting him to come on strong later this year or at least by next. I would like to keep Diop if he is cheep. He just needs to learn to shoot the ball. He looks like me out there. Varejao has a load of potential and should be a good one. Hopefully Z will stick with the Cavs for less money seeing as they paid him for all those years when he was hurt. Wagner is gone after this year. Hopefully they will be able to keep McInnis, but I would like to see them get a good PG in the draft next year for the future. The main goal will be to give Lebron whatever he wants to keep him happy. I just hope the rest of the players around him realize what he does for their games.
