Hey, just because I like to wrap my arms around other men, throw them to the ground and grab their ball(s) doesn't mean I'm gay. Tell 'em wadc, it's not like that, really... On second thought, maybe I should take the test again, perhaps there was some under-reporting. :biggrin:

Does Rugby have homosexual tendencies?

SCRUM = enough said
Actually, I have absolutely zero to do with that stuff. Not only is it arguably queer (:biggrin: ), the scrum is where most of the really serious injuries happen. It's all too easy to have your neck broken in there. My position is more like fullback or tailback than offensive lineman. Would you agree, wadc?

So that would be the guy who gets right up behind all the guys who are bent over in the Thcrum. Oh I get it:biggrin:
That position would be the scrum-half. If that's his position, then he lines up behind the scrum and receives the ball from the hooker. I'll remind you all, that unless he plays co-ed rugby, then this is a male hooker.

If he's the next man out, positionally speaking, then he is a fly-half. I think this position is named because of, what I refer to as, the windshield effect. Once the fly-half gets the ball from the scrum-half, he has anywhere from .5 - 2 seconds to get rid of the ball, or he gets squashed like a fly on a windshield.

If he's further down the line, then he's an end. If he plays the safety position, then I believe that's called the fullback position (unless I confused that with soccer.) Regardless, scrum action starts with 2 hookers (sounds like a Springer pay per view event) battling for the ball, and they try to spread it around to the rest of the guys on the team. Undoubtedly, a very manly sport.
