Pretty much sums it up the way I was reading it, as well. With an NCAA investigation ongoing, Ole Miss and Freeze wanted to place the blame on Nutt and engaged in a smear campaign. Nutt said "fuck that. You guys need to apologize." Ole Miss was too proud so Nutt said "ok. A lawsuit is what you'll get." The lawsuit uncovered what led to the firing of Freeze. Ole Miss lost their coach and Freeze lost his job and all they had to do was say "sorry."

Then again, the end, or at least a suspension, might have likely been coming for Freeze once the NCAA finished their investigation.

... and we all know that if he did it in Louisville, provided it was for recruiting, it would be a 5-game suspension in a college basketball season. Gotta guess it would be less in the SEC!SEC!SEC! for a football coach.

Frankly, I think that Old Miss has seen the writing on the wall for a while. This was just the last straw and a 'for cause' reason that can clearly be pinned on him without adding any more dirt to the football program.

Light a match man... this thing is going to burn hot and for a good long time.

What's really funny is that the FOI requested only like six days of phone records and just happened to stumble on it... Now, that's not to say that any random six-day period may have had calls to that number... but I want to call Nutt's lawyer and take him to Vegas for a weekend.

Not only that, but Freeze was allowed to redact, I believe, personal phone calls and still left the escort call on there. This idiot has only himself to blame.

My guess is the odds of having a call to an escort service show up in any random 6 day period was close to 100%
